I am down on Fri and I need it to be sunny because I want to do some cultural outside stuff in the afternoon

No it's cold and rainy

Altho the 5 day forecast said sunshine on Friday so fingers xd :D

typical - I thought I would be leaving the grim weather oop north for sunnier weather daaarn south....

Best plan some indoor cultural stuff then......

What's on ?

I'm thinking Tower of London (bit wet tho)
some art galleries/museums/theatre....:?

... only got a 2 hour meeting from 10-12 and then the day is mine....:D

I heard it was going to rain all week  And I didnt wear my big coat today because Jon said I didnt need it so I'm totally freeeeezing :(

The heating has been turned off in our offices because its supposed to be summer  The building has a tin roof so its absolutely freezing in here. We're all sitting in our coats:evil: :(

fingers crossed!!!!

I need to plan my wardrobe - suit for 2 hours, civvies for the rest of the day..8)

I am still thinking Tower of London - been 3 times in my life, saw the Q then decided against so I reckon this time - it might be quieter as its middle of a work day..... but then I suppose its usually only tourists who go to these places so the Q's will still be humongous...... maybe I should book tickets in advance.:? :?

Pups I would definitely do something else if you only have limited time in London. I went to the Tower when I was younger and loved it and remembered it being a really good day out. So, last year Ben and I went again and it was rubbish. We're both really into walking round London and doing everything "historic" and were really disappointed. There really didn't seem like there was an awful lot to see and I just felt like I had been really ripped off.

If you did have more time get a train from Waterloo to Hampton Court it's much, much better 8)

have you done the south bank from waterloo to london bridge, taking in the tate modern, the globe, the hayward etc...

London has one of the best "collection" of galleries and museums of the world, I could spent half of my life in the National Gallery watching The lady of the rocks (or whatever it's called in english) or El Greco room. I was gutted that I couldn't visit the Tate MOdern in my last visit.

oooooh Hampton Court that sounds good - problem is our train back is 7.00pm and by the time you add into the equation food and drinks it limits the time we have to "explore" - but then again we do have 1st open return tickets so we are not suck to that train time.... this is a definite possibility

basically I am going with my gay colleague and we have to do something that's a bit fabulous too - so far, he wants to wear his linen suit and punt me down the thames to oxford and I have to buy a white flowing dress, and carry a parasol ....:? :? 8O 8O

also, he really does want to look at the Crown jewels too!!

That's the thing, I remember there being lots of jewels there when I was younger. I don't think they are there any more - at least not many of them.

You can always get a boat to Hampton Court on the Thames , lose him in the Maze for a bit and then get an ice cream from the van on the way out 8)

I do that walk lots at lunchtimes, it great. I walk from my office (Liverpool St) to London Bridge, over and along the southbank to the Millenium Bridge, over that, through St. Pauls and up to the Guildhall and back to work via Moorgate. I always want to just stop at one of the pubs on the river and not go back to work

its the ONLY thing i miss about working in london.

I enjoyed a lot my visit to Hampton Court and the Tower of London that I've been twice.
One museum I really like is the Victoria and Albert museum.
