Hopefully someone will be able to tell me if it is possible to run 2 different Ipods from the same computer, and if so is it very easy :?:

I have just got an Ipod and have fallen foul of new rules at work meaning i cant run it off my work PC  , my flatmate has a PC at home but runs his Ipod off it. I'm hoping I can too but dont want to mess up his settings!!
Any help would be greatly appreciated :?
Thanks

My friend tryed to run his ipod in my computer, I do run mine on it and my friend had to delete everything on the ipod to upload the music I had.
So the conclusion is that the mess would be in your ipod :? Hope does it make sense

It's only a problem if you have 2 different sized iPods and different taste in music! You can run both iPods off iTunes if you're willing to have the same library on there.

Alternatively there are programs like Podworks for Mac that allow more than one iPod to feed a music library.. not sure about PC..

Thanks Sil and Mark that does make sense, is there any way you can run bioth Ipods and the associated software independently of each other?

just make sure b4 u link up ipod to a diff computer to switch off the " AUTO update library" feature found somewhere in the preferences.

just a guess but what about if you set up two separate users on the mac

when you log into one you should have one itunes library, with a separate one on the other.

would this work mac fiends?

or call into the apple store on Regent Street from this saturday onwards and ask one of dem so called 'experts'

THis is in your itunes preferences.

Make sure you change it cos it will start to upload everything in itunes to your ipod

Rusty advice seems to make sense but the itunes library would be empty for the new user.

2 seperate users should work, as itunes stores all music into the itunes library located in the users folder.

who needs experts!

u going down the opening rus?

they got 300 goody bags worth £700 on offer for only £245... me thinks there maybe an ipod (mini)
