Re: free clubs, you could try Bora Bora, Dc10 (25€), Underground, Blue Marlin, Lola's, Anfora (gay + low door charge) and others.
Es Paradis in San An is pretty easy to blag too.

If you HAVE to go up the west end its the only semi decent place up there. I was in there a few times my first ever trip 4 years ago, its better than the others.
Ooooo also, not forgetting Plastik which is up there too, very nice, modern and funky.

Where is Blue Marlin? I've seen it mentioned loads of times on here but no mention of a location.

If you take the first turn left from the airport, then follow the signs to Cala Jondal. There are several beach-side bars down there, Blue Marlin is the first one.

Re: timing of parties, they're a bit sporadic. Last Sunday Jason Bull (Es Vive/Base Bar) had a birthday party was buzzing till midnight at least:

Funky lounge at the back of Savanna is the best free entry place to go if ur on a tight budget and staying in San An. I've had some fantastic nights in there, u sometimes find big name DJ's in there Tongy,Pete Gooding & John Kelly have all played when I have been in there. Free entrance, reasonably priced drinks and a great atmosphere. It opens 12-5ish but doesn't usually get going till 2.30ish.

I'm being the hard-to-pronounce word you mentioned.
I mentioned a cheesy and possibly dangerous- but alright- free club, I know Bora Bora is 100 times better with less of a chance of getting kicked in the groin.
