God yeah. I've been groped by weirdos :roll: had people indecently expose themselves to me :roll: been with a friend who got mugged (in Nottingham incedently :lol: ;) ) but it doesn't stop me going out and about.
 
It's in the town centre (well the edge of it), i live off the road that leads into the other side of the centre, bout a mile away.

In the pic on the BBC site, if they'd turned the camera a little to the left it's where two of my mates clubs are, i think they've given the police their cctv footage, hopefully that might help them! (they'll prob also see me stumbling out or meeting a "friend/pizza man" ;) in the ally between too 8O :lol: )

Hopefully they'll get caught soon though as the police and public now have good descriptions of the cars and the men involved...

One of my friends got into a fake taxi from outside the same clubs a couple of years ago and only escaped being raped by putting a shoe heel into his face :evil:

Make sure all your Northampton girlies are safe ;) I know what it's like when you're a bit 8O you don't think twice of wandering off and getting into random taxi's, things like this bring it home what dangerous situations we sometimes put ourselves in :?
 
A few years ago I used to drive a hire car transporting Virgin Trains staff from Newcastle to Leeds arriving around midnight. Had to keep the doors locked in Leeds as it was sometimes a Cavalier or a Vectra. When I was empty, total randoms coming out of nightclubs were always trying to open the doors at traffic lights or outside the railway station thinking it was a taxi. 8O

Some of the 'taxis' I've got in my young pup-pess days you look back and think how stupid you were, I'm glad I'm older and slightly wiser these days :? :lol:

Hell I went down to Brissol 2 weeks ago for an overnight stop, sole commuting & dining.
I'm going down to London on Sunday, again on jack jones. I'm quite happy to find my own way about :)

Sorry but thats a piss poor duck out reason, I would be offended & be inclined to think she was telling porkies :evil:
 
glad to hear you mostly agree that unmarked taxis are NOT safe.

Someone quite close to me was assualted in the worst possible way on a train. A girl i know had someone masturbate in front of them on the train. And if i remember rightly a girl was attacked at a bus station near chelmsford after the v2000 gig, apparently travelling alone.

Also, I've not heard of many attacks in well lit crowded areas so why do some girls still insist its ok to walk around in the dark alone? Respect your decisions to be independant ladies but IMHO...the streets just ain't safe.

I couldn't bare for something else to happen to someone close. If it means being an old fashioned fuddy duddy and not letting the females i know put themselves in situations that i consider iffy then so be it... it just isn't worth it!

It's not just girlies that are in danger either, a few years back my male (and tall well built) flat mate was travelling back from C.London in the front of a Cowboy cab.
The driver stuck his hand on the Inside of his leg and touched him up. He got out the cab and ran and ran, arriving home in such a state.
 
a punter actually tried to kiss a mate of mine as he walked by the red light district. Traumatised the poor little tyke...

So yeah us blokes have to watch out too. For that and being attacked by chavs. I've always lived in dodgy areas so i'm ok but the niavity of some people just beggers belief
 
Yeah its best when a girl is independent and able to do certain things like travel alone...shoot i go to the movies alone if i really wanna see the movie... but there are those girls that just cant journey by themselves. ..like my best friend im sure she would go do certain things by herself but da girl has no sense of direction...seriously she still gets lost and she has lived in the same city forever...so go figure...if you love her then hey ...thats just her...
i suggested gettin my friend on of those global trackin devices...heheheh
