andy manumission speaks to the independent

"The other surprise is that thanks to the gigs (ibiza rocks), San Antonio, probably Ibiza's unloveliest spot thanks to high-rise apartment blocks and sunburnt Brits, is having something of a renaissance. "San Antonio has started to become the coolest place on the island," claims McKay. "It's funny – if you want to rub shoulders with Jade Jagger, you go there. We're really enjoying the fact that the town Ibiza Uncovered desecrated is now the town that is regenerating the island."

is he right or just another one with senile dementia?

I definitely found San An to be a much nicer / laid back place this summer and look forward to exploring the place much more. It had nothing to do with Ibiza Rocks though!

as soon as someone describes a place as "cool" then people will follow..

Not sure I'll be following in too much of a hurry but never say never.

I do quite like the idea of Ibiza rocks though - haven't been yet.

the efforts of the island authorities to regenerate San Antonio and also in the promoters/clubs there for being bolder should be applauded

the place looks nicer

the clubs have more diverse talent in display

I was out with some Spanish friend yesterday - You'd usually her and her mates in Ibiza Town etc but they spent quite a bit of time in San An this year and absolutely loved it which being Spanish I found quite suprising but I guess is in line with the whats being said above.

Still pretty sceptical myself, purely for the fact that the beaches are poor and I like meeting people from different countries when Im abroad/dont go on holiday to just hang around nearly exclusively with English people!
