in related news...

 ibiza town will look for another location for the IMS
the mayoress announces the move after the complaints from the neighbors
even if after the elections there's a new team in the council...

 ibiza town will not authorize more concerts in the baluarte de santa lucia, except the jazz festival

disclosure tomorrow, jarabe de palo on thursday and that's it for this year... annie mac's event on september 6th is happening somewhere else, same with the rest of ibiza roots festival dates, etc!

that's doesn't mean there won't be any other one-off in the future but they'll be much more strict from now on with the noise level, taxes, etc...

good ... but i think they shouldn´t have cancelled these 2 IMS dates in may
as "official" start of the season.
and what about the new old port area ? is that the new openair-disco ?

I bet Matutes and his Palladium Hotel Group are rubbing their hands at this news. Quite obvious where the IMS parties are going to end up now. Wouldn't be at all surprised if this was the intention all along.

last ever non-jazz music event at the baluarte? hopefully not... francisco didn't seem very impressed with the decision earlier on and he was one of the last to leave!

Does this and No Name have anything to do with the new government?

dalt vila for sure. no name possibly. but as for dalt vila it's not just the government. as far as I know they always got noise complaints by ibiza town residents when doing the IMS parties, but as this was just once a year the (old) government tolerated it. now with so many events up there I think people's patience came to an end and with the new, more restrictive government, they said 'enough'.

add-on to that - it's interesting though that events as the s+1 and the be at tv/sonica party which were both held in the port were 'no problem'. also lots of complaints, but I'm not sure if they will be affected by the new government's direction. reason is that the port is run by the national port authority and thus it's not the same place and people you need to enquire for a permit for an event. McR will know more I'm sure, but that's what I know.

Is that god-awful Gran-Prix boat thing happening in PDB this year again? Man that was awful and SO freaking noisy!

So moving forward - what will be the likely fate of the IMS parties? Will they simply move to HRH / Ushuaia complexes do you think?

that's a good question man! I thought so (urgh!), but haven't heard anything at all lately which somehow makes me hope it won't happen.
