Hey guys and gals,

Hope everyone has been keeping well. Am back in action after several months sans Ibiza forums.

Anyhow, will be at Global Gathering next weekend along with my little brother (visiting for the summer from Canada).

Am flying over from Dublin on Saturday morning and back on Sunday night... no plans other than that. Who's going? Any tips for a first time festival goer? Looks like I will be spending most of my time in the Babooshka tent but am also very interested in seeing Sanchez in the beach tent and Herman Cattaneo.

Look forward to your responses.

Cheers,

Doran

Hi Doran, good to have you back ;)

There's loads of us going off here, we're driving up Saturday morning, booked hotel for Sunday night and back on Monday, hope to see you there :D

Re tip:

1. Get there EARLY, there's only one entrance into site (cept for shuttle buses from Stratford centre) and traffic is always a mare
2. Beware of the sniffer dogs
3. Usual festival clothing, sweatshirt etc for night time.
4. Take your own toilet paper cos it always runs out

It's going to be a fab day, let's just hope the sun shines 8)

Welcome Doran!

I couldn't agree more because the Babooshka tent looks rather tasty but migh have to scuttle off for a bit of Steve Lawler & the Hed Kandi tent a bit!

Only other thing I'd add is... if you have bought a VIP Hed Kandi ticket then you can skip the queue because there is a seperate entrance!

Oh & chupa chupa's as well...every festival requires a good strawberry n cream lolly I say!

I see on the website, that there is shuttle buses to and from stratford. However these are only every 15mins at best. Are these not a nightmare when you are coming out at the end, as I imagine that more than 50/100 people per 15mins will want to go back to stratford.

Are there plenty of taxi's/dodgy people willing to take you where you want (for a price around)

I am don't want to be waiting round for hours trying to get back to my hotel!!!!!

Shuttle buses are a nightmare leaving site, you're fine getting one there but coming back prepare for massive queues and hanging round for ages waiting for the buses to drop people off and then come back again.

Also re taxis/dodgy people if you get one from main exit you're going to be stuck in traffic for ages, best to set off walking a bit of the way from the site and try and get a taxi that way.

Little bro and I have a rental car - sounds like it could be a bit of a disaster leaving the site... Our flight back to Dublin doesn't leave until 5:45PM - like Barbie, I'm sure we will find ways ("stuff" hehe) to amuse ourselves during the day.

especially if it's raining like last year - don't think many people will wanna wait in the rain

but looking at the forcast it doesn't look to bad at the mo! :D

Got a nice comfy hotel to go back to, we'll only be using the room for a total of about 5 hours as they kick you out at Midday!!!!

Then back home to pump it rotten!!!!!

Haven't booked one of those yet but am wondering if it might make more sense to book one for Sunday but beg for early check in? Probably one and the same...

I hear what you're saying about going back home to pump it rotten - Morillo plays Dublin on Sun. night and my friend is resident so we will have access to hang out with the man himself.
