Summer '16 is coming Soon ...See U @Illetes

I agree that neither is illetas formentera's best beach nor is cala conta the best on ibiza. but I understand why they get chosen as best ones.

What beaches you think are the best then. I been formentera twice and loved ilettes. However they were just day trips but for our second trip this year later in June we are spending 3 days on the island so what you think is the best beach ?

I think the question has to be more specific. the best beach for what? for couples? for families? for tranquility? for beach clubs with music? for watersports? for snorkeling?

over in formentera, I also like illetas, but for me it's always too busy (except in may and october). the other side, the part on the east side behind illetas is much quieter. then I love es calo and migjorn beaches.

in ibiza don't even know where to start - really depends what you're after.

Illetas is a lovely beach but as Stivi says it does get very crowded and does attract "them lot" of their yachts... Es calo is also lovely. Personally i like Playa Mighorn because of its more rugged beauty. You can lie on that beach and have no one within 50 meters of you. Plus it has some nice coves along the coastline not to mention some great beach shack/bars.. Formentera at its best for me. Calo saona cliffs are magnificent for a sunset as well.

For the whitest sand and clearest water which are the best beaches in Ibiza and Formentera?

the 'clearest water' always depends a lot on wind, currents and also heavily on how busy the beach is. for example, cala bassa can be an absolute paradise. but with the wrong kind of wind, and a packed beach in august, the subjective 'water quality' can change a lot. that said, with good weather conditions, I think these are some of the best beaches for clear water and lovely sandy beaches: salinas and es cavallet (es cavallet often has seaweed though), cala bassa, portinatx beaches (always lots of families, but honestly those beaches are underrated), aguas blancas and es figueral, cala llenya and cala nova.

over in formentera, illetas is definitely beautiful - just too crowded for my liking. migjorn and es calo and if quiet, also cala savona is a beauty.

June and and October this year so should avoid the peak time with the crowds.

Love calla Bassa if it's not busy so hope illetes over in formentera is not too busy in therm times too. I been portinax and was full if families but nice too.

I liked calla bassa as well, very clear water and I think I saw some fishes too but not sure.

I would think early morning is the best time to visit these beaches in peak season to avoid the biggest of crowds?

It´s not Cala Salada, it´s Cala Saladeta, my favorit beach when I lived in Ibiza, before families took over.
I seen Jean Paul Gaultier there twice, unfortunatly the girlfriend don´t like it now when the staires are gone,
or have they rebuild them?

I agree, cala saladeta (the small one past the rocks) is a jewel too. sadly again packed in summer so one of those we only go very early or very late in the season.

Remember also your greatest afternoons @Cala Nova @Atzaró Beach o_O:

Eivissa Summer '16 back SOON : D45

Cala Saladeta is probs my favourite so far , wasn't too busy at all when we went (early september i think). Was trying to remember which beach it was so thanks for reminding me! gf did not enjoy the rock climbing getting over there in flip flops lol

A woman of 61 years and Austrian nationality died in Formentera after suffering a drowning in Es Pas des Trucadors between Illetes and the islet of S'Espalmador,

is that where you can wade through the water from one island to the next when weather is good ?

have to say, a few years ago (maybe 5), there were quite a few beaches on ibiza that felt like hidden gems, such as Cala Saladita and Cala D'en Serra but last year, they were all very busy when i went in September. I think Tripadvisor has done a very succesful job in pointing people to some of what were relatively hidden gems. This year i'll be hitting some of the more rocky coves for less people...will just be me and all the old naked people ha ha
