Ibiza virgin

Hi all, i'm sad to say i'm an Ibiza virgin and at 35 thats simply unacceptable. In my younger years i did all my clubbing in the uk (club kinetic, cream, turnmills etc) then i had family etc etc... the list goes on. However i am finally making it to the white isle next week! I'm after some advice really, we are staying near san an and although thats great i think i would have been better suited on the other end of the island. My plan was on going to bora bora for early evening bopping followed by a club after. Now the week i'm there they have the cream amnesia opening but also have joris voorn on in pacha the following night i can only muster 1 night due to other commitments etc what should i do? I feel due to it being a trance night at cream i may be the oldest swinger in town? I also prefer techno and tech house... to 135-140bpm pumping trance. Any advice anyone?

I would suggest music on at amnesia over pacha. Can't really comment on cream as I've never been into trance. Cream will probably be a younger crowd but everywhere else is all ages - there's no ageism in ibiza.

I wouldn't worry about the 'oldest' thing.. I'm 37 and never felt out of place at any party.. it's Ibiza after all.. theorectially welcoming of everybody :) Several trips ago I saw a 60+ yr old banging it out at 5am in the smoke cannon of Amnesia, and he looked properly dressed like he could have been my father or something (ie- didn't look like a clubber). Awesome.

Anyway, I would skip Bora Bora.. every time I have been there last year and the year before has been a big disappointment. Even more so if you are coming from the other side of the island. Big waste of time IMHO. More fun to do Ushuaia or some other beach club preparty.

Except that he said joris voorn at Pacha.. in which case that might be pretty awesome.

Cheers guys, decisions decisions! Good news about the ageist question. The 60+ year old in the ice cannon sounds great, i hope i'm still doing the same! I have looked at the music on nights but i was just drawn more to see joris voorn and nic fanciulli in pacha (insane) friday

Thanks for the bora bora question too might look for something else to do as a pre club, club/beach bar

I'll probably end up flipping a damn coin at this rate!!!

I wouldn't skip bora bora as an Ibiza virgin pick the right day and it will have a great atmosphere. Every time I've past there the last couple of years it's been really packed .. Music not particularly to my taste but you seem pretty open minded. I wouldn't necessarily do bora bora as a pre club thing though.. Better to spend day there bus is really cheap. Maybe pick a day that there's another beach party on so you have more options :) I've never once felt old yet anywhere in Ibiza.

There seems like so many places i have to nip into and take a look... need a whole summer out there me thinks life was easier when you only had a choice of a few places! I've always just being frightened of missing out but i suppose too much planning would take the element of fun and randomness out of it! So long as i find some decent places and get to listen to some great sets and boogie till the sun comes up with some like minded people i think i'll be happy! Now where's that coin to toss?

If you like Techno & tech house then Mondays are DC-10 followed by Cocoon ... but not sure when you get there.

Some ideas on a few other days (for example) :

- Wednesday : Wisdom of the glove @ Pacha

- Thursday : Used & Abused @ Ushuaia (day) followed by Wetyourself @ Space

- Friday : Insane @ Pacha / Christian Varela @ Vista Room (Privilege) [if you want to go to Amnesia then try Music On over Cream but I hated it last year]

- Saturday : Carnival Culprit @ Sankeys or Kehakuma @ Space

Check out threads here for day alternatives or smaller venue night parties which are usually free or low cost entry and can be just as much fun as a big club :

I'd honestly skip Cream unless you're into trance or mainstream music. Amnesia can be incredibly great or an absolute nightmare and cream opening party can be like a sardine can. Also lots of the parties are best VERY late (4am - 7am). A lot of people on their first visit go far too early and shoot their bolt before the best times are had. I'm older than you and no issues with feeling too old. Some of the parties draw a much younger crowd. All of the above should be decent bets for a good spread.

Wow kimajy that was great advice, do the wet your self nights at space get busy enough Without it being like a sardine can? That was where i really wanted to be... sadly i miss sunday, so we love is off the cards. You guys on here have been great thanks so much for your advice!
