Ibiza Virgin... Playa d'en Bossa or San Antonio?

Hello :)
So after much consideration its come down to two hotels, Rocks House @ Pikes or Ushuaia. Originally we wanted to go to San Antonio however the more reviews I read Ushuaia sounds amazing (although pikes seems to have less negative reviews).

This is mine and my boyfriends last holiday before we 'settle down' and want to go with a *bang*. Were looking for clubbing, water sports, restaurants, you name it we want to try it (within reason lol!!).

So my question is, which would be better for us to stay in Playa d'en Bossa or San Antonio? I've herd San Antonio is much better for clubbing.
Also does anybody have experience with either hotels above? Or could suggest maybe a even better hotel? x

PDB isnt as mad as SA, its also a good place to base so you can get to Ibiza town and down south. Regarding the settling down, dont do it ;-). We tried it before, even moving to Cambridge until we found that it was ok for a weekend but not for life and now we are in our 10th year of going to Ibiza.

perhaps, wuddy, if you told young emma why it would help her decision making process?

perhaps, craigy, if you told young emma why it would help her decision making process?

If you like been told what to wear, where to stand, where to dance, you cant swim in that pool and you`ll have to move because these people beside you are just so amazing they need loads more space..then pick Ushuaia..

For Ibiza virgins I would almost always say take the plunge by staying in San Antonio. Of course, that would largely depend on what kind of age you are.

Seeing as you have only just joined the forum and your username is 'Emma21' might I be correct in assuming you're 21 y.o??

If yes, and your partner is of similar age, I would definitely recommend San Antonio.

I say this because San Antonio has so much to offer on your doorstep, but also because to experience more cultural aspects of Ibiza you will inclined to travel outside of San An as well (pubic transport is efficient & cheap, and the earlier you start using it the better).

Once your maiden trip is over I'm quite certain you will fall in love and be planning your next visit - settling down or otherwise - and you can then look at other resorts, including Playa d'En Bossa.

Just make sure you visit PdB at least once during your stay. Maybe for a Ushuaia/Space double-header?! ;)

ok each works either way staying in both resorts.one like said you can travel to most places from san an on bus,but only down the road is ibiza town.from there you can get to more places.pdb/figueretas/ibiza town have some great places to eat.pdb is near airport not far to travel.easy to formentera.and other resorts on that coast line by boat.club wise you have space/dc10/pacha on your doorstep.privilege/privilege are inbetween both resorts.eden and es paradis of course in san an.plus the sunset bars.

its not long on buses to get there and a small walk..pdb also as the waterpark longest beach on the island.lots of water sports.plus your not far from las salinas beach.where you might see a few superstars.Ushuaia is a very up market modern hotel.plus now they have the hotel next door.the tower.resort is flat as well.if you do stay in .Ushuaia as a guest you get to see all the acts and dj;s on most nights free..plus learn to be a dj if you like.ibiza town for me is only 20 mons away walking.5 in a taxi 20 mins on bus.all depends on time and traffic.great veiws from delta vila once you get to the top.then dropped down into the port area for great shops and bars and restaurants.

again its all down to taste both resorts have something going for it.wether it be good or bad.shame they could not build a new resort with the best bits of both.Pikes or Ushuaia are not cheap either to stay there.ok pikes will be more quite and mega stars stay there.but Ushuaia is more clubby.which ever you choice let us all know how you go on.

i;ve stayed in san an when i was younger and other resorts over the years since 83 multi times a year.but now i base myself in pdb hotels.wish i was 18 again.but the comforts i get now i could never afford when i was younger.ie better hotels and not cheap atps.that are just ok for a bed and shower.if it was cleaned or had new linen.etc.

If you like a pretentious crowd, people with attitude and the faux rich, I would go to PDB. If you like a mixture of cool and generally down to earth, nice people go to San Antonio. Far better restaurant and bar scene when not clubbing as well.

If you want an ok time, go to PDB. If you want a fantastic time, go to San Antonio.

Pikes would get my vote, stayed there a few times (even on my honeymoon) and loved it.

PDB but pick a sensible hotel, not Ushuaia. You got easy access to Ushuaia (for events), Space, Sankeys, Bora Bora, Figueretas, Ibiza Town... Only good things about San An are Ibiza Rocks (assuming the band that week isn't pish), sunsets and the occasional dip into the west end (though if that's your thing better off going to Shagaluf tbh).

In my eyes i depends 95% of yourself if you're gonna have a fantastic time not the location. Although I never stayed in SanAn (maybe next year) I prefer Figueretas over PdB.

Oh wow, didn't expect so many replies.
Thank you all for your opinions, its much appreciated.
We've taken everything on board and I think we will go to San Antonio, Pikes :). Like said above we can always come again to playa d'en bossa.

Yes, although soon to be 22 (: & my boyfriend is 28.

Regarding the people, Ushuaia sounds a bit like Savoy in London.

Once again, thank you :). I can't wait! The day we arrive David Guetta is playing at Pacha <3!
Taking the fun out of the holiday a little.. do you think we should book all our tickets? xx

take a look on there home page Ushuaia.rooms etc.thats why you get hooked and have to go back year after year to ibiza.i;ve still not seen it all.in 30 years.as ever year something new crops up.done all the beaches bar from about 15.

I am in my early 30s and it's my first time going to Ibiza.

Should I stick with San An or Ibiza Town?
I am coming with 3 friends (well they are not confirmed yet but should be fine). So I am having a hard time debating where to stay.

How far is San Antonio away from PDB area by cab?
How far is the drive from IBZ airport to San An? What about IBZ airport to PDB area?
How much would cab cost me to either places?

In terms of hotel, is San An much cheaper than PDB with more selection?

I am only in town for 2 days and I want to make the best out of it.

pbd would be best
hotels can be high in aug
17k to san to pdb roughly
pdb from airport is just up the road
20 mins from airport to san an 25 to 30 euro;s
7 mins if that from airport to pdb 10 to 12 euro;s
thing is in aug you must stay a min of 3 days to book a hotel.

your dates come to 3 days nights anyway.sent you a link for a hotel in pdb private pms.right i the heart.right on the beach as well.11 euro a taxi will be.in day.29th to 31st.taxi is from airport so if you dock in ibiza its about 15 euro to pbd.if san an then to pdb 35 to 30 euro;s,

I would serioudly give PDB a miss as a place to stay. You will regret it.

San Antonio, try the Gran Sol.

Thanks for your tips woodruffe!

Is this true? F**k!! Is there any hotel allowing 2 nights stay?

Yes plenty of them do when they have empty rooms. Try spotlight first then check out last minute booking sites like laterooms, lastminute.com, hotels.com, booking.com etc etc if you get stuck and they don't have any allocation in the area you want for short stay.
