This is my first ever visit to Ibiza. I hear and read so much about Ibiza so I decide to experience the life of partying myself. I am traveling myself and thinking about going to Ibiza from June 9th to 14th.

I have so many questions but first of all, is it really expensive to eat, drink and going out to clubs?

What time does the Judgement Sunday start and end?

Is there any clubs playing Funky house, break or Drum and Bass?

IF i can get some answer to these questions, I will feel much better.

Also, where is a good place to hang out and meet new people? My worry is that going there by myself, I would not know anyone.

Thanks bunch and Can´t wait to be in Ibiza

hi there! ok let me try and help you!

I have so many questions but first of all, is it really expensive to eat, drink and going out to clubs?

Depends on what u are used to. Avoid the restaurants in san an near the west end on the big open place in front of the boats. Try genuine cuisine in Ibiza town, D´alt Vila - check out the following pages www.bambuddha.com - www.banyanpalace.com . try Villa mercedes in the port in San An, Il vaticano is alledgedly good italian food, the curry club is spicy food, kasbah has great tunasteaks and burgers (homemade) and the strip also serves ok god food, especially at mambos or coastline!

the prices are from 5 euros for a starter and a main meal will set u back from 8 - 20 euros depending on the dishes. wine is from 10 euros and up, quite god wine they have most places.

Clubbing IS expensive, a bottle of water costs between 6 -8 euros in clubs (you CANT drink the tap water), a drink will set u back 10 - 15 euros (but they make them big and strong most places, you get your moneys worth) - and entrance - the most popular nights like cream or space nights will cost 50 euros approx and the less "attractive" nights will be around 20 - 35 euros depending on what night we are talking about

What time does the Judgement Sunday start and end?

J.S is at Kiddie Club Eden, a good place for trance and progressive trance - but its a young west end audience who attend these parties. You can go after 12 and I dont honestly know when it ends!

Is there any clubs playing Funky house, break or Drum and Bass? check out the party calendar for more specific information on this. I think theres a urban night, cant remember where though!

IF i can get some answer to these questions, I will feel much better.

Also, where is a good place to hang out and meet new people? My worry is that going there by myself, I would not know anyone. You will meet a lot of happy peeps basically everywhere so keep an open mind, most peeps are kean to strike up a conversation. go down to the strip around evening and soak up the good atmosphere, hear the great chill out tunes and watch the sun descend. people clap when the sun drops into the ocean and the final rays of light dissapear. a breathtaking experience. if you dont like the commercial stuff try coastline or kasbah for the same magnificent view, but less commercial. on the strip you will also find cafe del mar, the infamous hang out place.

Is Judgement Sundays a Kiddie club? Oh well I dont care I want to see Eddie Halliwell play, Ive seen him twice and believe me this guy is great. Even Tiesto admitted that technically speaking eddie is better than him.

Great answer ibz grl.

I bow to you. You know less about Ibiza than everyone else on the board!

( apart from me of course, but then, I've never been )

Keep 'em coming!

last time i saw eddie haliwell in eden, he was head butting his mixer going mad with the tunes, he is totally superb and very under rated, wait till you hear his scratching, amazing!!

Eden is not a kiddies club, although it does feel very much like a British superclub inside (who the hells idea was it to call the place Eden when there isnt a plant or tree in sight????!!!).

Judgement ends at around 6.30 but it all really depends on the crowd on the night. If there are still loads of people there then it will go on until 7 (thats what happened last year anyway, Ive heard they are clamping down on club closing times this year though).

And yes, Eddie is the man  At Judgement last year, he climbed up on top of the DJ box and was jumping around like a complete lunatic. What is that guy on (apart from the DJ box)???!!

thanks for the info

Thanks for all the info. It really helps to get the feel of the Island.

It seems like Eden isn´t such a good place to go? I was interested in going there only because I saw the Dj line up of Judge Jules, Lisa Lashes and others. I love Lisa Lashes so i thought it would be a good place to check out.

Any more thoughts on Eden?

The main problem with Eden is that it feels like a big UK club, it doesn't have the Ibiza vibe that the other superclubs over there have.

I would recommend trying a different club and although you might not get to see EH you will get to experience what the Island is about (or what the Island is about to clubbing).

I just think that place is the least attractive place in Ibiza, and also holds the youngest audience. for some reason I´ve visited it over 10 times now, and each time there has been a LOT oy youngsters around 18-19 and a lot of lager louts. Most of the times I´ve been to Judgement sunday and in Sept 2002 atthe closing party the audience were slightly older tohugh - maybe it´s cause I´m an old bint (27!) and just think it´s a kiddie place, but I think someone else around here might agree.

I think that Pacha, Amnesia and Privilege are much nicer clubs!

I have always felt it's not the appearance of age, it's how the person acts that really matters how old a person is. I'm considered young age-wise, well I am young (20), but I don't act like it. I believe I act maturely, speak maturely, carry myself maturely and party maturely (for the most part :P) I would hate to know that the minute ppl see me and think I'm young, that they think negatively of me. It does help that I look much older than what I am, but for others that look young, it would suck to already have this stigma attached strictly on that basis.

Back to the main topic, Eden is not as nice of a club than Amnesia or Privilege, etc etc. But what matters most in your decision is are you going for the club or the music? If you like Lashes, go see Lashes at Eden then. I didn't think Eden was neither disgusting nor spectacular, but Corsten and Jules will be there and therefore I will be there, plain and simple.

59 days to go for me... I can't believe it's under 2 months!! YAH YAH YAH!!!

eden is just as good as amnesia when jules and haliwell are on the decks, the sound system is amazing!

we went to amnesia radio 1 cream night last year and it was absolutely terrible, it was totally over capacitated and ruined the full night, u literally could'nt move!!! i spent about 35 euros for a tkt and stayed for 20 mins and left!!

I had the same experience with cream@radio 1 - was there, it was INSANE!!! I coulnt move, got claustrophobib, and we didnt have fun at ALL!"

Same thing happened to me at Cream with PVD & Tiesto... so packed, couldn't move, Tiesto played AWFUL AWFUL, and for the first time ever seeing PVD in my life, I had to leave an hr and a bit into his set bc it was so hot, so packed, the rest of my party was feeling nauseous from the heat and the sea of people.

i'll be goin to cream the thursday after radio 1 this year so hopefully it should be bit less crammed, its a great line up tho tiesto pvd oaky so it'll prob just be as bad

Why pluffy chicken you ask?

A long long time ago, after very hard night of partying Me and all of my friends were hanging out at Mo´s house.(friend of mine, petty mow, it´s a nick name) Anyway, we were all sketching in his small living room and one of the girls was wearing colorful striped socks.

All of sudden, I asked, that socks remind me of that you know big pluffy chicken. I meant to say, Big Bird but at that time, I could not think of his name. Pluffy is not even a word and I meant to Fluffy. After that we all laughed and that name Pluffy Chicken kind of stuck on me.

Last Halloween, I dressed up as Big Bird and I had the best costume.

That´s the story of Pluffy Chicken in short form.

I hope this cleared your curiousity. Thanks for asking.

Only a week and half away from going to Ibiza
