It´s definitely Ibiza behind our Catherine in this perfume ad. But where did that mountain come from? Is that what happened to the rubble from the motorway tunnels? Is Ibiza going to move to Wales? Or is it a film set for the follow up to "The Sound of Music" - "The Von Trapp Family Go Mad In Ibiza"?

i saw the blog from nick so we did a spot the difference ;)

so, bellagio - you still think its not ibiza port in the background of the ad ? ;)

they do this on food packaging all the time, for instance, they do it on shortbread tins to make them look more scottish, make up lochs and valleys etc.

pretty funny seeing that right enough, well spotted!

mrlk - thanks - I was wrong & but I prefer the untouched version - that's of Ibiza of course not Catherine Z J

the email we sent to elzabeth arden ;)

we're just wondering where you got the mountain from in the
advert for mediterranean purfume?

[+link to our blog post about it where we compare the photos]
the reply today:

Thank you for contacting Elizabeth Arden. Please provide us with more
information regarding the Mediterranean perfume advertisment so that we can assist you.

"...
Ibiza Image

The new perfume of Elizabeth Arden, "Mediterranean", which is currently
being launched in the United States and will be available in Europe
around Christmas time, is using a shot of Dalt Vila and the port of Ibiza
in its promotion poster.

A photo of the Welsh actress, Catherine Zeta-Jones, adorns the image
which uses the Old Town of Ibiza as a background.

The perfume is described as "a modern expression of sparkling radiance,
combining the creamy woods to reflect the whispering waters and rich textures
of the Mediterranean" - whatever that may mean!

ps:
photoshop "made" daltvilla´s "hills" and
a 20 years younger looking zeta-jones:-)

you'd hope that the ibiza sun would credit nick, us or the spotlight wouldnt you ? ;)

i dont recall seeing the ad mentioned in the ultima hora at any point over the past week....

actually i take that back - after rereading the report in the ibiza sun, they cant have actually seen the advert or read nicks blog, our blog or the spotlight forum, because if they had i would think that they'd make a comment in the report about the rather large green hill at the back ;)

whilst i'm in the mood - spot the photo in the ibiza sun website strip at the top ;)

ok, that was little cheap shot ;) but it is funny that the report doesnt mention the rather large hill in the advert ;)

I'll admit it wasn't entirely my spot. It was mentioned in the Diario. Unfortunately its story was rather spoilt by the way it cropped the ad so you could see Mrs Douglas, but not the background. My research consisted of finding the website with the original ad.

Incidentally the website lets you download a voucher for a sample of Mediterranean in the UK. (Of course I could just wonder down the road for my own free sample of Mediterranean. Just wish I'd thought of bottling salty water and selling it...)

"Descrete changing rooms are available and Javier along with his wife Vinceta are there to help and advise you if needed..."

Talking of The Ibiza Sun, this is from this week's advertising feature on San Antonio's Erotic Toys Shop. It needs no further comment.

It's a spoof, get over it.
