Ibiza Taxis

1h30 waiting this morning at Amnesia... 💀
A bit late now but after K&P the other week, a few blokes were walking down the taxi queue shouting for people to jump in a minibus back to San A for €10, presume they do that most nights.

Has anyone tried Uber since it launched in Ibiza in November?

Tried tonight and absolutely nothing although seemed to be a minimum wait time issue which I’ve never encountered before.

Taxi Click worker fine and arrived quickly.

Lol seriously good question tho, curious how it will go during IMS.

Yep. Perhaps Uber doesn’t want to pick up from remote villas? Yet Taxi Click arrived very quickly.

in the interests of fair competition, the island authorities have decreed that uber can only pick up 30 minutes after a booking has been requested.

If you tried to order a taxi trought the uber app just forget it, no taxis works for them

Any recommendations for pre-booked minibuses? Anyone used Airobus? We’re a group of 10 and are looking to to pre-book 4 or 5 trips while on the island in July. Thanks

Yeah I used them last September for a group of 12 of us. They were spot on and we did about 5 separate trips with them. Vehicles were good with decent sounds in them.

We are out next month staying in Cala Llonga. Possibly 3 trips to San Antonio for different things

There will be 7 of us adults and kids and I think it’ll have to be 2 Taxis each time. Are there taxi firms that do 7 seaters to save on the 2 cabs and help keep prices down?

it's either two taxis or then you book a van by one of the many transfer companies. I think the van might cost a tiny bit more than two taxis, but 1. they will be on time for whenever you book them (so, no waiting) and 2. of course you are all in the same vehicle.

I was always a bit anti the van v class thing. However, after a few days of TaxiClick crashing continually on me - even after a re-download, we pre-booked a V Class the other day for 7. Of course it’s more expensive than taxi, but it was 5 mins early for the pick up and less than €10 each - and an ice cold bottle of water each.

personally, whenever I don't drive myself, I always try to support the proper taxis here, but for cases where you are a bigger group than 4, booking a van is just so much more convenient and if you're 7 or 8 people it's really not expensive.

@David_T - how much longer until the taxi companies start offering vehicles for more than 4 people? I don't know if there's a legal reason for it, but I'm really surprised the industry hasn't made any move there

yes, there is a legal reason why taxis are restricted to 4 passengers as the local councils set all the rules and regulations. however, one would think that with the influence and clout the taxi owners wield at local government level (the last mayor of san jose was a taxi owner) that the rules could be changed to allow taxis with larger capacity if they really wanted.

anyway, in the days when i could be bothered about this sort of thing, i wrote a short blog article on the subject

Hello I’ll be on the island in a couple of weeks. How is the availability of taxi’s in Santa Gertudis? Is there a rank?
