This x 100000. Plus there are lots of police stops around the island in summer.

It is just not worth it at all. Also worth adding that alcohol levels are very low in Spain - lower than England (similar to Scotland) - so even a pint or glass of wine will show as a failed test.

They are more interested if you are on drugs rather than drink I've found. By either is wrong wrong wrong!

Controls are everywhere, don't do that.

If cost is the issue use buses, slightly more inconvenient but less inconvenient thank being dead or in jail for causing death by drink driving.
 
Even if you don't have an accident, the fines for foreigners are enormous, plus you couldn't rent a car in ibiza for 3 years I believe.
