Ibiza Seasonaires - Who is planning on doing the 2013 Season?

Hi,

Thought I'd introduce myself. After using ibiza-spotlight for the last few years, I'd thought I'd finally join up to the forum. Great to see so many like minded people one here!

I've been going to Ibiza on and off over the last few years, and have been in love with the place and music since I first went. Anyways, now at the age of 28, I've finally decided that I'm going to leave my job, put my career on hold and do a season in 2013. It's something I have always dreamed of doing in order to have a chance to live on the Island and am sure I'll meet some amazing people.

I've heard the Ship is a good place to look for work and accomodation. When do places generally start recruiting? I seem to remember Cafe Mambo started their interview process late April last year for 2012. I might also look for potential jobs in watersports at the beach but that might be a long shot.

Who else is planning on doing a season this year? What dates are you planning on flying out and have you done one before?

I'm in a similar situation (and age) to you; after years of visiting the white isle i've decided that this is THE year to commit and work the season.

I'm in the process of gathering contact for accommodation and work ahead of flying out late April / early May, however I'm not expecting to have anything 100% confirmed until I'm actually there - will probably aim to get my first week accommodation sorted in a hostel / cheap hotel though.

Are you going solo or with friends? It would be great to hook up and find out a bit more about you and any plans you have.

I am going to be doing the 2013 season! Im so excited. I went over to Ibiza in the summer of 2012 and stayed with a friend in Es Vedra! Fell in love with the Island and am ready to go back over there for this season!
I have applied for a few places and just waiting to hear back from them - I am a super organised soul so I hope to have something 100% in place before I go, but you never know! Im feeling getting a little apartment for me and one or 2 others - nothing too massive, and preferably not in Es Vedra or Es Pon, but as I said before - you never know! lol!

Im 22 and currently doing a winter season in Chamonix! So I know the seasonairre life!! :-P

Keep me updated with what everyone is doing - would be great to know some people before heading out! :-)

Just reading these posts makes me feel that I'm not alone!
I'm 23, been to Ibiza 3 times on holidays and totally adore the place..
I've always been stuck in a relationship and tied down with work so this year is all about me and I'm putting my job at home on hold and taking 6 months leave! EXCITING TIMES!

I'm currently looking for any advice on how to look for people to share apartments with as there are plenty I have seen that I LOVE but as I'm travelling alone it's going to be difficult to initially get someone involved? So any free advice would be appreciated!
Also, does anyone know when the best time is to fly out? I was aiming for the 2nd week in May but will that be too late??

It would be good to get to know people on here before going out!! I look forward to hearing from anyone :D

Hi,

I did 2011 and 2012 season so sure I can give you advise on anything you need!

In terms of dates mid may is a brilliant time to go out, you need to be wary about how much money you take though, as at that time of year it can be harder to find a job (especially if its your first year). I've always been relatively ok as I have known quite a few people but a lot of people I met at that time of year last year really struggled (in fact some managed to scrape by not working till sept when they went home!!) If you do go out then though, it can be easy to pick up a job, where it may just be part time to begin with 3-4 shifts a week, till mid june when it gets busier. The most important thing is to speak to lots of bar owners etc and try and land a job trial (or multiple job trials with different places).

In terms of accommodation don't worry, it's easy to find somewhere at that time of year. Book a cheap hostal for a few days near the centre (Rita's is basic, cheap, but good for this as you will meet lots of other new workers in there who might be looking for somewhere more permanent). Then pop into the ship inn at the top of the west end and check the boards out for signs from people looking for an extra person or pop into the ibiza workers accom office opposite the ship and speak to Mark who rents out loads of workers blocks including es vedra, es pon etc.

Hi im going alone as well i did ayia napa last year never been ibiza so its all new to me so please anyone whos heading over i would love to meet up so not all alone haha x
 
I am coming for sure but just do not know when!

I know this summer for sure!
