i havent seen any this year yet in san antonio. if you followed the regeneration thread, you should know that this year theres a new anti-street prostitution law which will fine both the person offering sexual services in the street and the client, so be careful with the sucky suckys.....

would have to be The Cure although i would end up singing in an awful English accent
Good choice... Exactly what I was thinking.

Am I not alone in thinking this party could actually be kind of fun?

great idea. if they can learn 'wheels on fire' me and the missus'll be down there like a shot. it's our rockaoke fave!

a great bit of legislation, there will be an awful lot of very drunk chav being marched to a cash machine by the police, i for one would find this funny and hopefully after the fine they won't get quite so drunk the next evening and no exactly the same!

that wont happen, at least for now, because theres no prostitutes in sight which is great. now they are working in their apartments or hostals instead of being in the street. so they go down... tsssk tsssk

btw for those that desperate, you can find some chicas in the hostal above certain okay bar.....

I don't think Ibiza will ever be out that anyway...... it's all about the music and the mood, for ppl who wanted it that badly they would be better of jumpin on a ferry to magaluf!

Long way to go for a tug.

Andy McKay sang 'My Generation' by the Who, his wife Dawn held the lyric sheet while her on stage partner sang Green Day's 'Basket Case', and I shouted 'Fight For Your Right to Party' by the Beastie Boys with Elena Sanchez (Dj Toga).

Rock(aoke) On(aoke)!!!!

And very good you were too, Dr Mick!!
I have to be honest, its been a while since I had such a good night( call me biased, but I was all buzzed up on pure rock and roll adrenaline the whole way back to Ibiza Town with my sidekick for the evening, Jonathan Golden, in tow)
Re, my own performance, me, Toga and same Johnny did Electric Six's Gay Bar , then I gave a rendition of The Undertones Teenage Kicks ( a personal favourite) accompanied by Toga, then I joined in with a couple of random girls on Joan Jett's I love Rock and Roll..
What a hoot...my neck is killing me from all the headbanging..

Bring on next Monday!
We plan to run Ibiza Rockaoke evry Monday throughout the Summer in Bar M..

Pete Gooding @ Bar M's Rockaoke - June 12, 2006

It's a logical progression from booking the band to being the band and Manumission have made the leap.

In the recent years the big brand has employed the services of Hard Fi, Faithless, Kaiser Chiefs, LCD Soundsytem and other names both huge and cutting edge.

Last night tho at Rockaoke at Bar M's opening it was the chance of the under, under, underground to prove its worth. Taking the mic were guys and girls whose talent had yet to find an outlet. And maybe some whose talent still hasn't.

Bar M's toilets used to be absolutely.......err......toilet:roll:
Oh ya... think I remember those (though I haven't been back to Bar M since my second trip in '02). The room was about 2 sq. meters, entrance near the street-side end of the bar. Ugh...
