Ibiza on T.v......

Hey guys... of to Ibiza sat, just wondering what you all think of films like kevin and perry, is harry on the boat, or any t.v series about ibiza?

Do you think they portray the correct image of ibiza? Most people i know seem to associate ibiza with films like those, so do you think they represent what ibiza is about...

im just wondering what to expect when i go over sat, at the minute, when considering films like those i think about reps trying to get you to **** a balloon for a free shot :spank:

you can **** a balloon for a free shot if you want to in ibiza - so to some extent those TV shows etc have an element of truth to them.

But that's only a very tiny part of the island - avoid the west end in san antonio if you want to avoid that kind of stuff! Ibiza has a whole load of experiences to offer you, from world class clubbing to secluded beaches and fantastic restaurants.

Just check this website for things to do, search the forums and decide what kind of holiday you want!
 
It protrays any holiday resort that has cheap booze, etc. But that usually is only a small part of any holiday resort.

The West End in san An isn't as bad as it use to be. I think one night of cheap booze and women is an essential part to an Ibiza holiday 8O

Go and experience the whole of the Island and make your own decision. It is much more fun that way.

can i ask your opinions on the west end then.... ive heard so many bad reviews about it, what is so bad? i know its everyone to their own, but there must be something that puts people off? fighting maybe?
 
there is hardly any fighting in the west end.............

its just lots of people drinking, having a good time, shouting, etc, etc pretty much like any high street in the UK on a sat night

except without the threat of violence

people are put off cos its cheap and tacky and with many a British lager lout.
 
hmmm thanx guys - One last thing... ive also read theres ALOT of muggins in san antonio, and most of these happen around the westend, is this true? happened to anyone on here? is there a specific area in which this happens xx
 
The muggins take place in places like Pacha, etc. They rob you blind with their drink prices :lol:


Crime is fairly low in Ibiza. Like any place just be careful.

Its no where near as bad as many people make out, the only thing with it is that its the area where all the young 18-30 type crowd go out so you do tend to get a few over excited k*ob heads there.
A programme from a few years ago called 'Ibiza Uncovered' showed it in fairly a bad light and some of the media picked up on it so it kinda got a bad reputation.
They have really improved it over the last few years, banning bar crawls, installing CCTV and opening a few nicer bars. If you go head straight to Hush or Plastik and you'll have a good night.

where have you read about people getting mugged?? probably in the same sensationalist press/media that portrayed ibiza in one of those horrific programmes.

San an is safe. its full of people having fun on holiday, no one is interested in making trouble. its therefore, fundamentally different from a night out in swansea, glasgow, brimingham or whereever else for that matter.

there are odd incidents of course but its rare at best. i've seen more fights outside space than in the west end.
 
be careful at night of the looky looky women too - they will try and wrap a sort of cord around your wrist and then demand payment for the 'bracelet' - if you refuse to pay they can get quite threatening.

They usually loiter along the sea front on the walk to san antonio bay. We used to walk along with our arms crossed on that bit - and watch some people get caught out.

Don't know if they've been cleared off this year though.

I saw a fight in space this year 8O - a big aggressive punch up in the middle of the new terrace. Horrible!

Think it was at sundays but I can't remember :? :lol:

i think the problem is with ibiza documentaries/films etc. is that they portray the whole island to be like the west end, when in fact it is just one tiny (miniscule) little area of the island. i always end up spending more time there than planned, as much as it gets slagged off, its still a good laugh, and there are a few very nice places to party there. i tend to go out quite late to the west end, usually about 3 or 4. Whenever I was walking about at about 1pm to 12pm there were hordes of folk falling about. I think people go out as normal when they go there, and dont usally last till later.

I saw a few fights last year, none of them were in the West End.

The Looky Looky people are annoying but no more annoying than a big issue seller.

The crime is incredible low... Last year we left all our car windows open and keys still in the ignition and it was still there in the morning :oops:

yes there was on Sunday! i remember now! I thought i was seeing things as i was the only one out of my group to see it but......thanks for clearing up i was not going cuckoo!

I'm having flashbacks of that too now :? :oops:

The only fight I remember seeing in Ibiza was years ago @ Home@Space - 2 g___ were having a ruck on the terrace and one of them threw a bottle and the glass went everywhere and a piece flew across the terrace, Tom had his sunglasses on his head at the time and the piece of glass missed his eye by less than 2mm 8O :twisted: The cut was bleeding loads and it was really scary to think what would have been if it had been 2mm the other way - now that would have been an Ibiza injury going home without an eye 8O
