Hey all, jus saying hi as a fresh name on the forum.

Coming out on Friday 23rd Sept with my best mate and looking to have a mad week - our first time to the Isle.

Long-term relationship just dived, all sorts o crap going down at work, so we've booked it on a whim to give us a chance to escape and let our hair down.

Absolutely Can't Wait!

From reading posts on here and elsewhere, I think we made a good choice :D

So what's the key to a mega week on the white isle then?

Ollie

There is no one "key". There are a succession of them, like Bora Bora, Pacha, Amnesia, Space, El Divino, Penelope, tens of great restaurants, the D'alt Vila, the beach at Cala Jondal, the sunset in San Antonio, Sanchez, Deep Dish, La Troya, many many bottles of beer, a guilty stop in at Burger King, a few new killer mix CDs, a shot of hierbas, bars off the beaten path...

I could go on, but the keys will be different for everyone.

I was in exact same boat last year and had a fantastic time. From my limited experience now is the best time to be there although it is a little quieter, however if you plan your parties carefully you should be alright. Make sure and check out the party calendar in advance. If your unsure about any nights or music policies, don't be afraid to ask. If anyone gives you smartass answers ignore them cause everyone always asks the same questions. Might help to type a general query you have into the search field cause chances are you'll find the answer in seconds!

Although the term 'life changing experience' is one I'd try and stay clear of, my life definately changed for the better after being to Ibiza and experiencing what I'd kinda known I was missing out on for years with a bird who wasn't into the same things as I was. I went home, got a new job, kinda got out the rut I was in and now I'm in a whole new rut! But it did change! Now my outlook on life is completely different. Hope you have a great time. (Im jealous as f&*$)

Too kind, too kind.

I guess I meant more like what tips have you got for a noob. What sort of things have you picked up through experience which you feel are are key to making the most of it?

Party Calendar - prepare, but don't be too prepared!
If you like bar crawls, west end of San An's perfect. If that ain't your bag, head over to the other side of the Island to ibiza Town and Playa Den Bossa (thats assuming you haven't already gone there in the first place)
This time of year will be quiet in some clubs, so choose carefully. The bigger nights should be jumping though, plenty of closing parties.

If you get a clearish night (no rain!) head out to Cafe Mambo/Cafe Del Mar for about 6-7pm and watch the day slip away to some nice music.

Check out Plastik and Hush if you must stay in San An. If you're stuck out there, ask any of the bar reps in the west end if you're lost and can't find anything you need. ;)

Berocca, 5-htp and Lucozade Sport (or Dioralyte) 8)

As Morbyd said, the "KEY" is different for everyone. For me, it is making sure I hit up every fabulous DJ set possible, have plenty of Bora Bora time, catch a beautiful sunset here and there, and do most of the "big days" at the clubs... like We Love Sundays at Space and Circoloco's Monday Morning Sessions at DC10.

As long as you have great company, a great attitude, and a healthy amount of cash (at least the way I like to do it 8) )... you won't go wrong.

:P
