Ibiza Marathon (2025)

That time of year, the best marathon in Europe is upon us.... Marathon

It's been great seeing this race evolve over the past few years to now being a sell out each year. Ibiza is still massively undersold on outdoor pursuits over the cooler months.

The route is fantastic, a little hillier than your average marathon but Ibiza is anything but average 😄Also the start time has people a little bemused but it's just perfect timing to be heading towards Santa Eulalia as the sun is going down in the West.

The race brings in lots of visitors and there is no escaping the fact, everything in Santa Eulalia is opening up much earlier in recent years. Anyway, waffle over, just biggin up this fantastic race :)

Anyone doing any of the three races?

I'm running the Half Marathon part on Saturday - my first race in Ibiza! Ran a few half marathons in Brighton, and a full marathon, but this is my first actual race in about 7 years, plus I'm not used to running in this heat. Tuesday's 15k run was tough was no breeze nor clouds.

Hoping for a cooler day with a nice breeze but just looking to enjoy it and experience the island in a different way when not driving on the roads. Not after a PB this time!

Good luck for Saturday!

Good luck. The route is fabulous, impossible not to enjoy it :) Depending on what time you are aiming for, you will probs be at the finish a bit ahead of me, around 19:45+. 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️

Great race and a lovely atmosphere. Legs still feeling it a bit today - the hills at the start were tough and I hadn’t appreciated how much of an incline there was towards Es Canar (which seemed to go on forever!).

Disappointing that they ran out of medals at the end for quite a few people running the Half Marathon and 12K though.

That's not gr8 about the medals. The organisers have been bang on usually, I wonder how the heck this can happen if they know how many runners are taking part? The finish area was a bit chaotic; I got a medal but wasn't sure if there was a finisher's goodie bag or not! Maybe some people took more than one medal, easily possible in the mahem.

Let us know that you get your medal @Clara 🙏 Well done, maybe you will step up for the marathon next year? There is something liberating about running on the main roads around Ibiza with no traffic 😄

Overall, the day is such a fantastic experience, I read 6,000 people were involved, I guess this is runners and volunteers as I counted 4,500 ish runners over the three races.

I’d be really annoyed about that, were there finishers t-shirts too or was it just medals?

T-shirts were handed out at the expo on Friday when we collected our numbers.

Really hope I get my medal though! The lovely Oranja people lent me their medal for my photos with friends though.
