Ibiza line ups

EVERYBODY is going to disagree with me on this...

But I don't think the Ibiza line ups are all that brilliant this year. 8O :?
There are some excellent nights in the offing - but not much in the way of choice (for me anyway).

Discuss?

I think the line-ups are fab this year  I get to see virtually everyone I want to see and more so stop your whinging  ;)

In all fairness, I think the general "Big 7" aren't catering for people with your wants, which, by nature of it's underrground-ness, is always going to be a niche area.

I think you've changed more than Ibiza has. I'd asssume (know) there'll be loads of stuff you're after, though I don;t think you'll find it on the calender page.

What sort of DJ's would you be looking for? Nude? Mulletover etc? they'll all have secret-ish beach parties and stuff that won't be known about until close to the date.

I agree!

I've probably never consciously seen them play, though just the names on the Space flyer give me goose bumps. David Moreno, Villeneuve, Jose devina, and most of all, Voodoo and Serrano. Every year they're on the line up!

As I said, have no idea what they play, but I'm just happy they're there, iyswim!

well, if i look at the WHOLE summer, or i was there nearer the beginnng then there'd be more variety.

the time i plan on going, (end of August, first10 ays of sept) the Space lineups look ****e.. who wants to see sasha and james zabiela!:?... and would be nice to see some different DJs at Pacch during that time too

The cocoon line during that time seems virtually the same as last year and as thats my favourite night, i'm not too fussed.. only hope richie hasn't turned even more experimental and is nearing the end of his "I-want-to-play-with-my-computer-and-play-bleepy-noises" stage he was great at cocoon last year, but some of his stuff recently is quite grim.

would be nice to catch miss kitten at cocoon..

would love to catch danny tenaglia at space.. but unless I go later or just go for 2 months... ( now there's a thought!:)) and see laurent garnier with carl cox, if that will ever happen

You never know though... sometimes someone really great turns out **** and then someone i've barely heard of rips it apart!

so i do agree with you somewhat!:)

All looks fine to me, but I'm easy to please. I'm no aficionado it has to said.

As long as it's not heavy metal I tend not to notice the difference beyond a certain point in the proceedings!8)

:D :Dooh no, I'm very happy indeed with line ups - very pleased to see miss kitten on at cocoon, space on sunday looks amazing on the 25th june (better than the week before I thinks...), jeff mills @ pure pacha = yum, DC10 I'm quite happy with the residents for now, weds superfreq will hopefully be on at underground (or la troya - I just can't decide! agh!)

The fact that once again I seem to run around screaming "I don't know what to go to!!!! means that the line up is probably just as lovely as usual :D

Maybe you're just getting a bit bored of seeing similar line ups year after year?

I'm also easily pleased... as long as I hear "Just a little more love" at least once on the holiday I'll be happy
Seriously though, it's the club and crowd as a whole that makes a night for me, not which DJ's are playing. I've gone to nights where not one good DJ (IMO) has been playing, but I've had an amazing night because of the people I'm with and what's being played 8)

I'm looking forward to every night on the island!

I thought you'd all say that!

Thanks for the reminder about Superfreq though. That's made me a little bit happier.

Apart from that, I'm only excited about La Communidad, the Nude Terrace at WLS opening, Sneak at WLS, Circoloco & the Miss Kittin Cocoon night.
I'm usually really torn between options but this year I know exactly where I'll be at first glance.

Oh and Tiga is playing Pacha too isn't he? Perhaps it's not all that bad after all.

the line ups are class stink @dc10 will be brilliant, monza @space and then theres chris leiblings night as well and the cocoon line ups arnt to shabby either all in all the 2 weeks that im going for 8th sep till 22nd sep i couldnt have asked for any more 8) 8) 8) 8)

I also think that some of the line-ups this year are the best they've been, apart from pure pacha where the line-ups look rubbish.

I like the look of the renaissance nights.

Agreed, Robo - the Renaisance nights (only one of which I'll catch) look great. We Love's line-up is not bad either with June 25 looking even better than the opening the week before (as noted by zarbtron). Other nights I usually attend (Release Yourself, Yosh1toshi) are one-trick ponies anyway which is fine by me. MN2S has some nice line-ups but too bad it's up against We Love.

i agree about milk'n'2sugars, and i have to say it, defected has some nice line-ups with krivit, maw, spen, but the problem i have with mn2s and defected is that they are quite a similar night.

regarding we love space. i think the line-ups this year are the best in ages.

over the space of the two sundays i'm there, we have guetta, tenaglia, oakenfold (i think) smagghe, layo and bushwacka, felik da housecat, zabiela, woolford, fanciulli...

oh and cocoon closing with vath and hawtin, villalobas, and luciano

Similar line-up for the opening, which I'm about 80% certain I'll do in place of seeing the great Mr Sanchez (mainly because I can catch him the following week, but that means missing Miss Kitten... decisions, decisions)

There is a lot of Defected/Mn2S overlap, but I think the latter slightly pips it.

Side comment: Great that the Spotlight party calendar has more info on 2nd and 3rd rooms this year.

"IF THERE ISN'T A GOOD DJ IN THE HOUSE - DON'T GO !"
(c) some american chick in Ibiza Children 2002 video

WRONG !!!!!!!

Yes it is about who's playing, but not mainly. It IS mainly about the croud, the vibe, the atmosphere, the friends and what not!

If you come just for the DJ and music, save yourself the time and money - go download thier sets and then listen to them at your own home comfort - whenever u want!

"IBIZA IS WHAT YOU MAKE OF IT !"
Yes a corny sentence, but oh so true!

Regarding this year's lineups - I have to disagree with some of you, but as a house, techno & trance lover i'm torn between a few good options EVERY NIGHT, and that, my friends, has never happened to me before! (reminder: it's gonna be my 8th time on the island coming August 2006).

Conclusion: The lineups are good, the DJs are good, it's all in your head!
Sweep the bitterness away and come join me... come join US on the TERRACE! (so poetic yet so true! 8) ).

I agree with Robder as well, but I am a fussy bitch when it comes to clubbing. Or rather I am just a fussy bitch full stop! But like Becki says it is the people you go with, and the night that make it special rather than the overpaid DJ.

What I love about Ibiza are the small parties rather than the big clubs and big DJs.

Also with Superfreq.... It only goes on until 4am. It is normally just a taster for the evening, so loads of time to head to the clubs afterwards. :)

   @ us being all fussy.

Shall we get all poetic instead, put flowers in our hair, hug everyone and proclaim...

2006 HAS THE BEST IBIZA LINE UPS EVER! in big red capitals?

Are you there the same time as me btw?
Re: Superfreq - good plan - but don't the clubs hut at 6 now? Or have I got that horribly wrong? (I hope so!)

the clubs close at 6 only when da kidz are at school.

re the line-ups, nothing stands still, line-ups develop. just coz on paper you might not think a particular dj will do it for you, prepare to be surprised.

im not that fussed by who is playing, just that im gonna be there.
