In other news I heard a rumour that Ushuaia events will stop after this year ..source is about 50/50 reliable normally.
 
It makes sense... Matutes could make a lot of money if Ushuaïa turns into another five stars hotel without all the problems that a beachclub is generating.

🤣 that was ny first thought, but it’s a venue under pressure with times and sound restrictions , a venue that has had to book a very commercial artist twice a week in their schedule ,not a good look .. They have transformed the clubbing landscape with Unvrs which imo is a sensation for that ilk of club (I prefer Dc10 ,Akasha) etc but it is quality ..maybe the stresses attached to Ushuaia aren’t worth it ? Who knows ..
 
This will be one club .....sorry, hotel..... less that has events during the late afternoon/evening. Are we being forced to do all our clubbing after midnight?

I suspect that an increasing portion of Ibiza tourists are the type that have been clubbing for decades, are old enough to have the money to travel to the increasingly more expensive Ibiza, but are also getting to the age when one prefers to avoid the all-nighters. Akasha is perfect for this crowd. I guess we'll see more such venues opening in the decade to come - where the main event ends at around midnight.

I'm not sure it's such a great idea for Ushuaia to take themselves out of the game. Perhaps they should downsize the venue and go for a different crowd.
 
I'm pretty sure Ushuaia is already a 5 star hotel. The prices certainly are. I've never seen a night where it wasn't nearly sold out. Some of the one-offs may not be as busy as the residencies.

There has been a clear shake up to the landscape this year, and not just TNL venues. Considering some of the Ushuaia residencies have been going for a long time, there is room for evolution.

Perhaps they won't operate as a club seven nights a week?

Sound-wise, I think they have done a pretty good job of containing it, as much as they can, for an outdoor venue.

I really enjoyed it when it started out much smaller and had more of a beach club feel. Was it sacha used to play every week back then? Since it went full fireworks etc ive never been back.

When it was just a beach bar it was fab ..Brands like Fuse did events there and Djs like luciano and sven had afters there ,it was when Tini was doing her free parties on the beach and Carl Cox was doing funk parties at Sands beach bar in the day...seems a million miles away but was only 12/13 years ago ..
 
The first seasons at the current Ushuaia weren't that bad as you had the likes of Luciano, Sasha, and others playing regularly.
Then EDM wasn't that heavily featured even if it was already starting to make it's mark.
The first season of Ants was particularly good especially when the party started at the back.
I haven't been back for years as there's not much that appeals to me anymore.

I think it’s stale ..a pop star doing 2 events a week is embarrassing and lacks imagination..

I agree. I wonder if he is filling the place in both days especially since they are almost back to back?
Then again Harris is a big name.
 
Was more surprised Calvin didn't have a UNvrs night. Would assume he'd do bigger numbers than some of the acts on the roster

But then maybe he just doesn't want the 3-5 slot when he doesn't need to
