ibiza gossip 2025

Speak for yourself. As a club, it blows away most clubs on the island.
I love Amnesia, but I see both sides of the argument here. In terms of capacity, it hasn't reached the heights of the early 00's in recent years. Even the bigger nights like Paradise, you would find the main room only semi-busy. Cream 2004, 2005 etc. was filled to the brim every week (both rooms). But times change and it's far more difficult nowadays to fill a venue unless you arguably sell out by booking quasi-pop acts like Guetta.

Further to earlier comments, I noticed Carrer de la Virgen was strangely quiet last September. In years past it felt a lot more flamboyant

I think it goes beyond apps though. Gay culture has gone mainstream in recent years as society liberalised (in W Europe) and businesses found ways to monetise rainbows. Similarly, straights would think nothing of going to Horsemeat now, which shows how much has changed. There is arguably less need for exclusively gay clubs as safe havens whilst a lot of DJs appeal to people across the board, whereas in the past someone like Tony de Vit or Nicky Siano predominantly played gay parties. So it's change across the board. I know a few queens grumble about loss of identity but I think generally many other people are happy with mixed spaces

The truth is everyone in the last 15 years (regardless of sexuality) got a lot more boring, which is reflected by the parties and their sterile music policies. It's a yin and yang. Who actually dresses imaginatively anymore? Vaughan and Be.lanuit and one or two other ageing hippies in kaftans and that's it

Hardly even a gay scene.. Virgin is just as flamboyant as it once was.. I even read something recently they wanted to clean it up further
It is really SAD If they clean up Calle de Virgen! It is one of the few streets at Ibiza Town where there is still some edgy vibes and gayxtravaganza left🥺 But I have also noticed that street and Gay bars getting quieter every summer

I’m just speaking strictly of the venue, it’s the best on the island imo, although could use a bit of a speaker upgrade.

The lineups have been weak over the last few years. I actually think this year might be slightly better thanks to Resistance. I went to paradise last year and it was perfectly packed imo. Resistance is an upgrade over Paradise though.

I personally think Pacha should buy Amnesia and then you can have a proper battle between true Ibiza (Pacha/Amnesia) and Vegas Ibiza (TNL). Amnesia is ripe for the picking for a buyer, even if it’s a PE firm like what Pacha went through a few years ago. All they need is a little cash injection and better management.

What happened to Supermartxe? It used to be a HUGE club in Privilege. Now they do some tiny club events in the mainland. Since Ibiza is nowadays very commercial, there should be plenty of demand for Supermartxe kind of 'show club'

Amnesia seems stubborn, that or they lack the funds...

They have become the club that is a stepping stone.

If I was management I'd focus on opening less, and making a much more popular night and a night that becomes a real staple of people's must do event when they visit.

Pyramid is their brand, which they have really failed at developing. As I say it's a lucky dip who you get and what genre of music you can expect.

They need a musicon replacement. That should be their goal.

Didn't @W_I_C say Amnesia had a solid year last year?
The last big club owned and managed 100% by Spaniards, the last one who keeps his soul.
Will they suffer immediately from this new situation? Yes, surely.
Have they survived at this kind of situation in the past? Yes, they did.
We, tourists, have no idea how this business is managed, and I believe the Ferrer Family deserves respect for what they did during the last 30 years.
Wait and see...

They simply lack funds, they can't compete with the UNVRS/Ushuaia/Hi monster.

Don't forget though that often moderate DJ/promoter fee and moderate crowd can mean more profit that than the mega €€€ nights. For now UNVRS won't care if some nights even run at a loss as they are building their brand but in years to come even they might shut some nights if it's not worth it.

But agree that closing some nights and focusing on what they have got could be a better option, clips of empty clubs aren't a good look.

Indeed, summer 2024 was Amnesia's best in a long while.

Regardless, I too think they face a lot of challenges in 2025.

But, also, like you, I don't see them going anywhere anytime soon. They will adapt and so will the market.

I still maintain most clubbers want to go to a different club on each day they party and most still need to complement the expensive parties with the less expensive ones.

TNL owning three, including the brand new one and the 2 with the biggest capacity, obviously gives them an advantage. But, as we have seen in the past, size can can also play against you

I went to the last Supermatxe at Privielge. It was actually'ok' but it didn't help that privi was falling to pieces at that time (the garden outside area in the left was overgrown etc). What I do recall was there were really enthusiastic clubbbers. I enjoyed it.

You can't say they lack the funds? Have you not seen the upgrades they are doing at the moment?

when you google ibiza best club, you will always have amnesia in the top 3 or 4, this year is going to be difficult for them yes, it won't be the first time either, but it won't be the only one, Hi isn't going to have it’s best season either, that's for sure

meh, this has nothing to do with quality. It;s like assuming Hi as the "best club in the world"...because DJ mag says so...

Amnesia will be fine. They'll get beat up in the short term because of the new kid on the block. but let's not kid ourselves here - no true clubber is going to Hi/Ushuia/UNVRS/etc because they want the experience.

Amnesia has the truly unique experience to differentiate themselves from the other clubs this year (or next...) based on music. I truly think they should 100000% hit a night with Tini and gang, with a genuine effort to win over the locals for every night. Let's be clear - the locals run the show. If they love the night it'll be a hit. ***no bs, I never got to experience UG, and if it's repeatable as a night Amnesia would be FOOLS not to tap into it.

I have very few regrets, not hitting UG with Tini and gang is one of them....

Couldn’t agree more 👌🏽

It’s too big for tini and the gang.
They need at least one blockbuster night.
Is bresh still there. Musically bad but at least it’s massively popular for them.
