But seriously, the opening day was off the charts, how bad it was. I already mentioned that I noticed that the big speakers that are usually there were missing. Without being a sound expert, I suspect that these are the ones that provide the bass that is so characteristic of the DC10.

I would like to think that this was due to the power problems we had last week.

I'm attaching 2 pictures so you can see what I'm talking about, above is the opening day, below is a picture from last year.

Thats what I tried to tell. Mids and hight Frequencies are damped by the furniture and the crowd. Maybe the room sounds totally different when empty. You need a lot of speakers to fill the room evenly with all frequencies ( and in correct phase ). These are the small speakers you see at good sound systems. Filling speakers. Often from above ( see Chinois , see Pacha ). Its not a Hifi crap system. Not a easy business.
 
DC10 IS Purely living on the success of.... FOMO.

The only good thing they have going is the afternoon on the garden. Well.... it used to be, until the sound system got decimated and they ruined the layout.

I would honestly only attend DC10 if someone paid me 1000euro's.

Because when I am sat on the wooden decking at 2am with the security walking about as if you are in prison. That doesn't come cheap.

does anyone know if there will be more tickets available for sven closing at akasha? Just tried to buy and there is only garden ticket available absolutely gutted

more tickets? no. Existing customers cancelling and tickets coming back on stream? most definitely. Set-up a page monitor on your browser and be super quick to react
 
Nyra in the Garden yesterday before Adriatique was excellent. Reminded me of DC10 pre-roof with everyone dancing & smiling in the sunshine to uplifting, fun house beats. Few phones too (which were out in force for Adriatique).
