THISGrace Jones is one of the last genuine superstars, a total freak of nature and you should make the most of her before she gets too old. Her entire back catalogue on Island Records is amazing, joining the dots between dub, disco, new wave and 80s pop and she is such good fun. I remember watching Roman Polanski's film Frantic years ago and falling slightly in love with Emmanuelle Seigner as she drove around Paris with Grace Jones's Libertango seemingly soundtracking every scene. Genuinely gutted we can't make it but if you like that music/camp energy you're in for a real treat.
When Harrison Ford walks into that club, he's f***ed or confused - Libertango is playing. And after all that , the pistols appeared ...that scene where she jumped off the Eiffel Tower in A View to a Kill was pretty epic too. I'm ready to bet Pacha will have her hanging off a trapeze or in a floating bubble or something similar.
