Funny you mention this … we were sat up in Dalt Vila on our last day last year and heard some older scouse bloke waxing lyrical about how Camelphat do duel appearances at festivals … once as Ultrabeat on the retro stage and also as Camelphat … not entirely sure this is true but I hadn’t heard the connection before then

Well known in the industry he was Ultrabeat.... His gateway some one said say to the more club friendly sounds of now perhaps

Mike was the vocalist but it was actually written by Darren Styles and Paul Hobbs (of happy hardcore game Force and Styles). I’m ashamed of myself for knowing this!

Are the days of ushaia closing early at 11 here to stay in 23? Any explanation for why it changed late August 22? Nice to see they are reflecting savings in ticket prices 🤬

and yeah, on their own calendar it looks as though it'll be 11pm all season, same as it was just before the two season hiatus.

Do Ultrabeat not still play at Clubland style events? I'm sure i've seen the name still floating around somewhere. :lol:. They may even have played in the last decade in one of the town nightclubs round here.

Not true about Camelphat but the other 2 lads who was part of Ultrabeat (Ian Redman & Chris Henry) still tour playing festivals, Mike Di Scala always moved onto other projects he's the brains behind all these anthems over the last 2 decades.
 
Martin Garrix back on Ushuaia Thursdays, is he still big in Europe? Not heard his name in the UK for a long while now.

Lineups havent changed as much as I expected so far, still very similar to 2019 (or the 2020 that didnt happen)

why I am saying this? well, it looks as though we're in for some very cool early season weekends.

the first weekend of may (5-8) you've got..
- defected opening on fri
- ants day to night on sat at ushuaïa and hï
- something v tasty at pacha on that weekend too (can't say more yet)
- glitterbox opening on sunday
- and of course a dc10 sesh on monday (which won't be as packed as the opening)

the second weekend of may (12-15) you've got...
- amnesia opening on sat
- lots of great parties at pacha (can't say more yet)
- again ants day to night at ush/hï and glitterbox on sunday
- dc10 again on monday

the third weekend (19-22) of may you've got...
- defected, ants day-to-night, glitterbox, dc10
- pacha parties, one of them a proper biggie

and the fourth weekend (26-29) of may you've got...
- black coffee opening
- calvin opening
- pacha parties
- dc10

maybe wait until pacha stuff gets announced, once you'll see you'll understand. but if you wanna come early season and want to avoid the first opening weekend (where obviously everywhere will be packed), pin in one of those may weekends. island is fresh, ticket prices won't be too crazy, everywhere should be nicely busy.
