for lack of a general 'how's the season going' thread - I'll put it in here.

we've arrived in peak season.

both music on and solomun this past weekend were pretty much sold out. you can feel the island is now getting really busy and also the traffic and taxi situation is getting a little more 'peak season' style again.
For our trip 19th-24th I was very pleasantly surprised by how busy it was generally, last year there were a lot of thoughts/chat with the lads about how the streets felt a little empty, but this year was nicely busy generally considering I've never been before the end of July before. We expected our events to be quite concentrated as a couple were openings (Paradise/Afterlife), plus Camelphat/Defected seemingly going well, but they were even busier than expected too. Was very busy around our hotel also every day, best (budget) hotel i've stayed in 👍

But this news excited me even more for my next trip in a few weeks 😍

A good point:

It's not something that bothers me but I've read that in pacha people complain about the “ratio”, especially on solomun night. 90% men 10% women. this is not a problem for me because the most important thing is to have a good atmosphere and good music, but I've had friends of mine complaining... and I've read comments about it.
however I think the environment is still not bad. What do you think? is this recurrent?

Sadly I fear for OffBeat at NUI already. If people want these affordable parties with top class underground DJs, then they need to start supporting them

Very sad to hear this and hope it improves. I think the overall bookings are excellent but the second and third week line-ups seemed weaker than later in the season - in terms of draw. I'd have thought they would open with more of a bang?

I also see that there aren't any dates showing on Ibiza Spotlight's Calendar, besides the first three. Has it already been pulled?

Oh yes! Huge difference between when we left to go back to the UK on 22nd June and returning on 30th June. Everywhere so much busier across the board.

Pikes was excellent over the weekend for Saturday's House Party (Crazy P) and Sunday's Tales of The Unexpected (Man Power, Jordan Nocturne, Mella Dee..) busier than in June but with a really nice, friendly crowd on both days. Off there again for Nightmares On Wax tonight.

Didn't Lawson say they're in it for the long haul though ie all year? If they're growing organically dunno if they're bound by the usual seasonal /commercial pressures. Christ I'm talking like my old boss lol

Anyone at Keinemusik Dc10 tomorrow? Think will just be the main room open?

I think it will be the terrace rather than the main room. but yeah, I think just one room.

Is this as bad as last season? Last July, we really struggled getting taxis most days. We are flying over this coming Saturday and was wondering whether the lack of taxi drivers was as noticeable as last summer

not as bad as last year no. way better actually until now.

How was cirocloco yesterday? Someone went?
Too busy no?
I can't comment on DC10 from personal experience, but it was sold out and a message put up saying no tickets on the door. So no need to speculate imo

Prydz opening was very strong numbers, at least until about half hour, 45 minutes into his set when some of the less committed took their leave and a bit of space emerged.

The thought was that Prydz opening plus a hella strong Circoloco line-up would hurt Amnesia, but actually it also had a really strong night - as busy as it's opening two weeks. So they're happy as well

Seems Worried About Henry also had their strongest week so far this summer

So, yeah, to echo what Stivi said last week. Peak season is here and the clubs are all generally doing really well

Presumably it was Cristoph, Prydz then Beyer in that order?
