Agree, I think this is exactly what’s happening. It’s merging a lot, just look at Hi/Ushuaia and the DJs that can pretty much play any of their nights (with exception of Afterlife).
 
It is surprising this year, so much tech house. Also surprising we are not seeing any of Hawtin, Prydz. I thought both could easily sell out any venue. Good to see though Adriatque and Beyer taking to Pacha. That is going to be different and interesting to see. Please someone do a video as I am not there then. I hope we see a lot more of those type of artists in Pacha.

With Prydz its more he does stuff when he wants not venues not wanting him or worried about not getting the sales, his gigs are still huge here in the UK.

And yes there is a lot of Tech House, but these things always go in waves something new will be along in a summer or two.

I agree thats a big factor, theres also a load of new acts who have popped up during Covid who haven't been tried and tested on the big venues circuit yet for obvious reasons

Its the sort of night I'd deffo go to if I was there, but could imagine it being less than half full. Wouldn't detract from the night, sad thing is they are both versatile enough to play to massive crowds and its a good combo booking...
 
Personally, I am just really pleased to hear the love for Pyramid - they've really stuck to their guns quality wise even though they were having some pretty quiet nights when I went in 2019 (although every single person on the terrace at 5am was loving the Villalobos/Raresh b2b that night).
The brand feels very true to Ibiza and true to the spirit of Amnesia so I have everything crossed this is a great year for them.
.......plus when I was there I didn't feel like the oldest person in the room 🤣
 
Remember a few years ago you had cocoon, circo loco, hyte, paradise, music on, the wisdom of the glove/mosaic, Loco Dice at ushuaia, enter, vagabundos etc all within the space of 3/4 days and this year feels like we are seeing a similar pattern with lots of the same common dj's...was said earlier in the thread but we could perhaps see a night or two not emerge out of this season.

Yeah 2013 was the year. I think the slight difference this year, is just everywhere will be so busy, and probably packed full of Brits who at the moment just want the same Tech Tech Tech on repeat. So play safe and give the people what they want!

People/ music heads different breeds. Shame promoters have gone with the former this season
