What’s your take on it
@stivi ? I understand their reason but do you think more will? If dancing and inside clubs become viable do you think we will see more ‘ad-hoc’ nights rather than consistency residency’s ?
there will be both. as I had explained in the latest video with katie, most clubs that wanna open have their program pretty much ready to go. not all the clubs will be opening though and I think none of them will run a full seven day a week program as they usually do. it'll be a trimmed version of a normal season, with a few of the well-known residencies and a few smaller parties too.
in the case of paradise, if we take the promoters' view, the longer it takes for the balearic government to finally give green lights, the less sense it makes to get it all up and running. because even if theoretically a residency could be extended way into october or even past that this year, from a money making point of view, it's july, august and september that are the main months. so yeah it is theoretically possible that more promoters don't go for it in the end. that said, even though paradise is now off, jamie jones will still be around and playing.
josé luis benítez (ocio de ibiza) gave a big interview yesterday in DDI (it's paywalled sadly) in which he said that because of the spike in numbers they will probably only know after july 11 from the balearic gov't as to when things can start. at the same time various venues are preparing to open, there are opening dates being rumoured and such, but until the govern balear gives green lights, it's useless to put these out.
Instagram. Hard to see any residency happening tbh, which is a shame and unnecessary.
I get your point of view mate, I think we all do, but your constant negativity really doesn't help here. all around europe big events are still being canceled, even in places where events can theoretically be held (sonus festival in croatia being one big example). europe is sadly simply behind the states AND the UK as we had said a few times.
