PDC vs. San An

When and where does the new "cool" spot of the island start growing?

it depends what you see cool as.

personally i always stay at ibiza town friends prefer PDB it depends what surroundings and atmosphere you would want to spend your holiday.

ok, time for an update on gossip I'd say.

as so often there is a lot of stuff I can't really say and there are also things that aren't 100% locked down yet, but here we go; this is what I know and what I can say...

  • a lot of still unannounced nights will stick to their venue. solomun+1 stays at pacha on sundays, music on stays at amnesia on fridays, elrow stays at space on saturdays. disclaimer: it's ibiza, last minute changes might always happen, so don't take anything granted before it's properly confirmed.
  • luciano is apparently not going to pacha...and neither to space
  • I'll say it again, thursdays at space should be interesting :)
  • aoki possibly throwing his cakes at ushuaïa this year?
I'm sure lots of stuff will be confirmed in the next few weeks.

main nights for underground listeners are there thats good.

nothing about life & death and space thursdays going to be underground techno?

As long as Aoki ain't throwing cakes on a Wednesday at Ushuaia then that'll do me fine

more promoter news - hed kandi to solely focus on their daytime party at ocean beach this year.

taken off ocean beach ibiza's website:

For the fifth year running, the glitz, glamour and extravagance of Hed Kandi will be taking over Ocean Beach club every Monday. Each week the official Hed Kandi resident DJs will be turning up the heat (and the volume) all day under the Balearic Sun. Nobody does pool parties quite like Hed Kandi and this year Ocean Beach will be the place to be to hear essential summer sounds with Hed Kandi’s only weekly Party on the Island. With an all-new themed show, as well as official album launch parties throughout the season, expect the dance floor decadence to be taken to a whole new level!

while I'm not too surprised at that move, it's certainly no good news for es paradis. it's a shame, such a beautiful venue yet it seems they've just lost their best working and longest standing night :( not that I'm a big fan of HK, but it suited es paradis really well and it was a saturday institution for san an really.

Probably there must successful night now! And it's their own night! It will be back... They've done a mini winter tour too, so probably be even bigger now

Is it? I'm glad about that but it's funny that Ushuaia has gone so EDM heavy over the last couple of years only for an underground party to be their most successful!

well, you can ask yourself how ants became so successful? they've done everything right. started off small, but with a big promo behind it and free entry bands in season one. bit by bit they grew, got better line ups etc. at the same time they are still the only 'underground' party at the venue (except la familia but it's not weekly) and also by far the cheapest day to go to ushuaïa - it's really no wonder why it's doing so well. if their tickets were 50€ and they had inhouse competition the result might be different. but if they keep it that way, ANTS is gonna keep thriving. and hands down, they are doing a great job with that party.

Shame Ushuaia doesn't add a few more underground events (and drop the drinks prices a smidgen) - great venue. Saw Danny T there a few years back for a classics set and it was incredible

They tried that in 2013 and there was just too many of them. In some weeks they had 4 underground parties: Luciano (Tuesday), Loco Dice (Thursday), Pete Tong and 50% underground-ish DJs (Friday) and then Ants (Saturday).

It's a successful party, especially since the ants djs are waay cheaper than the EDM bunch, but "the most successful"? I'd reckon Avicii or Guetta bring much more revenue (with crazy VIP beds all over the place) AND clubbers.

true, but exactly those aviciis and guettas also have their astronomical fees. so more revenue, but also a way higher cost. it'd be interesting to see which party is actually the most profitable of the lot.
