i'm wallowing in self pride at the moment. i didn't get my own garden until i was 50 and i've managed to convert the jungle i bought into this

we now have lemons, tomatoes, dates, olives, grapes and carobs growing. on the herb front we have mint, peppermint, lemon balm, basil, rosemary, thyme, bay, chives, garlic, and sage. and joy of joy, a tree i found and replanted while clearing the bbq area is now in wonderful lilac flower.

i can't wait for the weather to turn a bit cooler to get stuck into the weeding!
 
We always had a garden back home. Mom was especially proud of the tomatoes, peppers, cabbage, etc. she would grow. The best I've had was an herb garden of sorts in my apartment window :lol:

Of course, we didn't have a swimming pool and subtropical climate.

Looks fab, Stephen. You still haven't told us when the inaugural garden party will be!

It looks beautiful! Don't even think of painting your house bright blue and putting horrible tasteless neon all over it! 8O

Good lord Stephen. You're practically self sufficent now. It's like an episode of the good life.

Just joking looks lovely, I'm insanely jealous. Especially since my garden is mostly made up of litter and cat muck. :oops:

That looks fabulous.... What I wouldnt give to be lounging in a garden like that with a cup of tea and a breakfast this morning.....

Its 17th August and I am looking out of the office window at a blanket of fog!!!!8O 8O 8O

Couldnt see the end of my street this morning when I drove to work (and its only 40mtrs Long..... bloody NE summers...:twisted: :twisted:
 
we've had our share of casualties in the garden too. we seem to have different types of soil in different bits of the garden and some things just refuse to flourish.

another area we're pleased with is the bbq area. when we moved here we couldn't see any of the view for foliage. i dug most things up and transplanted them, we built a banquette for relaxing after dinner and i had the table made to measure in a carpenters in san an. it's an exact replica of a bora bora table which i stand on to wave to the 12.50 madrid - ibiza flight as it passes over.

Stephen, your garden is truly gorgeous 8) I can just picture you and Jackie on the loungers with a glass of sangria waiting for the bbq to heat up - you lucky things ;)

it seems incredible to think that this is the same place which we saw only a couple of years back. well done sir!
