Ibiza Club Closure Online Petition

they've confiscated tons of illegal substances already this year. can i say that as a person with a foot in neither camp - clubs or west end - i can't see any difference twixt a load of drunks rolling around the west end or a load of drugged up gimps piling out of amnesia spilling across the road at 8am when the world and his wife want to get to work.

i think the contrast most people would make would be that you are probably more likely to get a punch in the face from a drunk than a "pilled up" person

It just seems odd that they've chosen to take this hardline stance now. I know that there is a new government in charge, but drugs and Ibiza isn't something new so why now? How is closing only three places for a short time going to make any difference to the larger 'problem'?

Because they were voted for and as I believe one of their key issues was a zero tolerance to drugs.

I think they've closed these three places as an example to the rest of them. I think the other places are now going to be taking the drug issue more seriously with the threat of closures looming over them

logical as that argument might seem to you clubbers, unhappily for it, most people are tucked up in bed when the drunks are out and on their way to work when the zombies pile out of amnesia. my own personal experience is the attempted sequestration of my motor by some f888king freak and his braindead gurning gang as i waited in a queue of traffic outside amnesia.

WHy don't they just legalise drugs, im sure in the long run it would save everyone all this worry, and would also save the new governments administration departments loadsa paper work etc. Then the government could tax the drugs they're selling, making themselves money and putting "terrorists" out of business in one fell swoop!!!

Or not.

Howard Marks 4 President  8) :p

The only result this will have is clubbers hiding their drugs more carefully

It will probably mean that everywhere will have police stationed outside, as Space did last year, to search everyone going in.

That would totally ruin the vibe... I've never seen any police searches outside clubs yet.

I read posts on here the other year saying they can be pretty 'strict' when they are searching people 8O

Did they invade his privicy? haha

Just booked up yesterday..... 8th-15th Sept :D:D:D thought i'd share my excitement

Yep. We got pulled over at about 8am on Sunday en route to WLS. I just had to empty my pockets but my other half was given a very thorough search, including having the policeman peer down his shorts. 8O It certainly gave us a bit of a scare and meant we weren't in the mood for partying, especially as we had 'the fear' after coming straight from Def Mix at Pacha. Not fun.
