ibiza 2019 observations

I’ve been the last 3 Fridays at Amnesia. The Terrace looked the same attendance all the three nights, but last night it was the only that the club was OK, with a lot of locals and Romanian music fans.
The VIP balcony on the terrace (the real one with tables) also looked good.

I spent most of the time in the club but when I watched Luciano he was closer to techno than tech house or his last years sound.

Specifically about Lee, a veteran of the industry, this guy is smiling and interacting all the time with his crowd with a lot of kindness and sincerity.
His set was awesome.
The crowd was OK, not the best I experienced.
Sure it will be different for the September gig...
For YokoO followers, he will not play at the next ADID in August, just for the September date. And no gig at Woomoon for him this year.

I was there too, really nice and friendly vibe.
Last time i was at Cova Santa was a Music On after so it was a bit different
 
By the way it seems rather quiet in Ibiza in comparison to the last 5 years this period. Restaurants in Talamanca not full and yesterday strolling at the old port I also observed less people?

I've not been out lots in the last week but I've heard similar comments from friends this week. until the last week of june I found it to be rather busy everywhere but it's possible it's not extremely busy right now.
 
on obvservations again

friday just gone

vagabundos in amnesia - not very busy as we've heard.
dixon in pacha - also not overly busy as friends went
diynamic in dc10 - we ended up going there - also just busy enough. until 4am both terrace and main were about half full and then once solomun and plex played their b2b in the terrace, that's when the terrace got really busy (and I guess the main room emptied out). that b2b was really good I have to say, heard some amazing music in those 2.5hrs!

fridays are currently ruled by defected in eden and FMIF in hÏ.

We also hvad a great time(thanks U Stivi).
First we took the bus from Ibiza town asked the driver to tell us where to get off,she was from the beginning in a bad mood and said nothing ,we could not go off in the middel of nowhere so we got off at Cala de Bou:twisted:Then a more expensive taxi then from Ibiza town :twisted:
When leaving Cova Santa,a guy was running up till us skreaming do you speak English,said yes,then he asked if we could call the police because there was a robberi going on in the house they rented and there friends was inside. What a end of holliday for these americans from Seattle:twisted:

I've heard same thing from peeps I know out there now. Perhaps June was "busier" as July the prices generally go up. (When I looked €500+ difference between end June and start-mid July).
Just a thought ?

Note also that Harvey is playing at Ushuai when I am there. Hopefully a small gig and not the full stage? The folk in the hotel will be disorientated when their normal afternoon of air raid siren "tunes" is interrupted by something decent....

Whats the west end looking like this year? It definitely seemed quieter last year than previous years

Well Amnesia was trying to follow Music On's format, but not sure how well it was working last yesr. It could still work especially with the different talent they have from Music On's days and also since there was more competition this week...

on competition, shadows at cova santa starts this week so that‘s another weekly event added to the list (with free entry too) which goes until mid-sept. and in dc10 you've got carl cox this friday, then one week nothing, then boiler room, then cuttin' headz etc...

the way I see it it's not gonna get any easier for anyone right now. this year's friday is last year's tuesday - too many events in a similar music style/genre
