ibiza 2019 observations

on observations

went to circoloco on monday night - got there only after midnight because I wasn't interested in the artists that played beforehand. terrace was perfectly busy all night - very busy but really on a bearable level - main room never got full. really liked magda and dj tennis, also got some banging dettmann and some troxler on terrace.

it's just a personal impression, but the combo of a pretty high ticket price and the fact it's rather hard for locals to get list for it (it's not impossible, but not one of the ones you can easily get) isn't beneficial for the party. if you look back, circoloco used to be one of the cheapest/most reasonably priced events. so even if you couldn't get list you could afford the ticket. over the past decade the price has gone up and it's now one of the most expensive tickets in that musical sector while other parties in the same genre have actually gotten cheaper.

on the upside - drinks are still the most reasonable on the island, the music was great and it's actually nice to have some space to dance! I'll keep on going lots this year!

What were the prices before for it? You are still getting loads of headliners albeit some dates are more heavy than others.

Late July last year they absolutely stacked those lineups wow

Bring back the 10€ dc10 ?tix with a black pass ibz99( I didnt went as solo and I had no idea where was Dc10 ?GPS didnt exist at that time,if only thr Pr told me it ws on Sa trinxa way..

used to be 25€ when I started coming to ibiza.

It’s a good point you raise though. Other places have early birds, or cheap before 2am, or eat/drink at the restaurant and get in etc, or you know someone’s third cousin that can get you on a list. DC10 is the only place most people have to pay full price for.

There’s no need to have so many DJs on the lineup.

that's exactly what I mean. I started feeling it last year a bit already, but this year it's even more accentuated I believe, everyone I'm talking to (dc10 regulars) tells me it's currently not getting as busy as it used to.

as I said, I for one haven't got a problem at all with that. but I'm thinking they can't be overly thrilled right now. and just so no one misunderstands me, it's by far not dramatic eh. it's simply not the 'packed all summer, no matter which room' situation anymore.

Of course it should be full price- they stack the lineups with a lotta names so should expect full cover. I get how the lineups themselves are usually random with no connection to the music styles between the DJs but I think it's meant to be promoted that way. The event is called Circo Loco after all

up until a few years ago, all DJs got like 500euro each didn’t they ?
