Er, I didn't realise you were there at the same time as me...and at some of the same nights!

I'm still struggling with a mixture of the dirty, filthy cold I've picked up (I blame P Diddy) so here is my semi (semi!) review of the clubs I visited:

We Love Space Gigolo night: only got there after 1am but my word, I really enjoyed WLS. Must be something in the water but the music was really good. Bar DJ Hell (who I'd actually gone to see) who played the most half-arsed trace rubbish. Most people in the crowd were more interested in texting and I don't blame them. Abe Duque's live set was good though.

Briefly went to Carl Cox/Francois K so can't really comment

Monza at Space with Damian Lazarus and Chloe. My word! After learning of Stink's demise went here to drown my sorrows and it was easilly one of the best nights I've ever had in Ibiza. Great music and crowd - how Cocoon used to be before it got too popular. Met some lovely workers from Space too.

Pacha for Laurent Garnier. Completely agree about the crowd, what a bunch of idiots. One of the best sets I've heard from Garnier but as it wasn't pishy vocal house, they just weren't interested. I agree that it probably was too hard for David Morales' night but come on people, be a bit open-minded. Full of vile sleazy blokes too. BUT I really enjoyed Pacha, despite slagging it so much here. Once again, must be something in the water.

Now for the real treat: Circo Loco at DC10. Wow. I've been before but that was the first time I've properly done it and stayed to the end. Dear lord, I was in heaven. Probably never been so 'merry' and despite being over-packed, it didn't matter as the music was so good. Luciano in particular was stunning. P Diddy was there in the booth for most of the afternoon, passing around tequilla and grapes to the crowd. Thought Tennaglia might play as he was in the booth after his WLS set but just stood around, grinning like a loony whilst wearing a daft bee cap. I wish I'd had my camera on me!

Was meant to go to see the wonderful Matthew Jonson at Cocoon but my bank somehow emptied my account so had no money until the next day and I only realised this at 1am en route to the disco bus. :x Not a happy camper.

Went to Formentera for the first time which was amazing (got the super-fast boat, thank god!) and hired a moped which was such good fun. Angelo is my new favourite restaurant although La Torreta is still stunning. Had a wonderfully chilled day at Talamanca where I would definitely stay on my return. The Jet was just too noisey and full of people who were obsessed with banging doors and ringing buzzers all day and night. Plus why does Bora Bora only play cds inside after midnight? And why do people still go crazy? Bora Bora definitely lacking DJ Gee. Some days it was great but others it was like an edition of Dave Pearce's radio show - bloody 'from Paris to Berlin' and I will throw up if I hear that Bob Sinclair track again.

Tune of the holiday - that Yeah Yeah one.

That is all.

Glad to hear you both had a good time !

what kind of music was monza, Clara? was it a busy crowd? I seem to recall you're a techno lover as i am too.. am debating whether to check out this night or not.

Also, do you recall what time you got the speed boat to formentera.. i don't want to waste my time on a piddly slow boat!

Sounds fab you 2 :D

My little sis is out there at the moment and been sending me endless texts about how good everything is

They're really regular, everytime we've gone we've had to wait no more than 10 mins cos there's different companies that run them. Just don't get the slow boat from Figuretes as Beckiboo will vouch for  ;)

Monza rocked my bum-hole. As I said, it's like Cocoon, but without Sven mincing about to his pishy trance and with a better crowd. Very friendly. The music is minimal but builds to being a lot more banging so yo won't want to stop dancing. They dressed Space up as well (it was the terrace and Red Box they used) and it looked stunning. That VIP area is a joke though.

As for the boat, the 25 minute ones are really frequent, I think every half hour. We got ours around 11.30am and returned around 8pm, after dropping the moped off. It is more expensive but so worth it. I'm not really a boat person, so having to spend two hours on a slow one is my idea of hell!

i'm debating whether to head to monza on the august 31st or pacha... i like my variety, but keen to check out a new night... but then don't want to waste on a flop night

thanks clara... i do lurve Cocoon, and only like the banging minimal not the bleep bleep -play-with-my-new-computer type. i noticed tania vulcano and jose devina... hmnnnnn

Do you think a sneaky trip might be on the cards ;)

Just read what you said about Space VIP - I take it it's still there then, I thought they might have binned it by the end of the summer

I was going to go to Monza actually - musically it is definitely up my street. Glad to hear it is still going well, but I couldn't face spending any more time in space when I'd already been there about 4 to 5 times that holiday! 8O

Ah I would have looked out for you if I knew you were there also mate

I seen P Diddy waiting to go into DC10 myself - I always seem to bump into him!

Was supposed to goto Monza as my mate who knows his **** told me to check it out.
Supposed to have a massive thursday actually but done fack all! 8O

Planned the Boat Party, followed by Cream for an hour, then Renaissance to see Satoshi and a bit of Sasha then Monza.

But the boat party didnt happen, so we spent the day on Tallamanca chilling. couldnt make it to amnesia for 1 which is the latest we had to be there for so didnt go cream. Then left it too late to sort anything out for renaissance so left that and just ended up missing monza completely :( - Told myself I would catch it when I go in sept :)

Totally agree with Pacha Clara hon - Suprised Garnier played for them in the first place! I thought he would have played for Cocoon if anything seeing as he played for Coxy the week before. Nevertheless it was better than spending my birthday in britain!
Finishing on Promised Land was good.. I think he wanted to play longer but sure I could see Morales telling him to stop at the end?

My Circo Loco experience was the same as yours I think. I went the first year in 2001 straight from space and thought it was good but it was nowhere near as immense as this year! This year I left it till 8 to go in and it was going off!! The terrace was awesome (proper rammed though) and Luciano was superb. Didnt see Tenaglia in the booth - I thought he might have played after playing space on sunday though. Seen Timo mass in there getting snap happy with his camera though.

I missed Cocoon also - wanted to see Villalobos and Hawtin on the terrace but went to see McRackin for a few beers instead as theres a couple of good cocoon line ups in september that I will probably do instead as the crowds should hopefully die down a bit.

Space VIP - the back of the terrace? I dont mind that one as it doesnt seem to take over much of the dance floor. I didnt see any vip at dc10 that everyone was talking about though

Sar - Kid Sister?! I didnt know you had one mate!

Yous going for the closings in sept then? I should be hopefully :) x

Sadly, yes. :x There were only about two people in it for WLS and the same for Monza. Such a waste of space (literally), especially as I loved the comfy chairs that used to be there.

Managed to sneak into the VIP bit at Pacha where the girl in the Moet glass is. Nobody seemed to mind and I just wanted to be able to recline on the sofas!

Nish - how lovely and relaxing is Tallamanca? Really fell in love with the place and the water is beautiful. Did some snorkling and saw loads o fish - felt a bit guilty eating some at the Tallamanca Club though! Makes you realise how polluted the water at PDB must be.

That Seven Nation Army chant by the Italians was such a pain, especially as they did it during the most inappopriate moments. Seemed to be loads of Italians this year and in PDB, there were hardly any Brits. Noticed a few more the past couple of days, no doubt due to the Radio 1 week. Overall, thought the atmosphere was very friendly this year and it was lovely to meet people from all over the world.

But that Space at the back of the terrace was 'our' space last year

VIP in DC10 is off the inside room - where there used to be all the cushions to roll around on and the football table

I've never seen anyone in there. Not even Puff Diddy!

Seems so daft. Even if I was into 'flashing my cash', DC10 is the last place I'd want to hang around in a VIP area, and it's always too hot there.

Q. Why are the toilets in DC10 hotter than the sun?

 Even if I was an A list celeb I'd still want to be rolling round the terrace @ DC10

The toilets stink

Clara - Tallamanca is ace! I will have to take you to this awesome place if we are there in sept at the same time. Nice beach, chilled out bar - fantastic 8)

Sar - might just catch you in Sept :)

DC10 toilets are traumatising. The heat is bad enough but when them **** who wear no tshirts and barge into you wiping their evil sweat onto you it makes me want to cry :(

I stank after DC10, no doubt due to all the sweaty men who rubbed themselves on me.

Sadly can't make it back in September due to work.
