> Ibiza 123 Rocktronic Festival

Although a fair part of the line up is not to my taste, thats just a matter of opinion. I think its a brilliant thing for San Antonio and Ibiza in general. And for a town and island thats given me most of the best times of my life, Im happy.
Happy for all the ibicenco bar/cafe/shop owners who will make a few euros, happy for the ibicenco folks who want to see some of the live artists play, and happy for all the holidaying/working folks who have something new to do this year!
And as you say there are plenty of other places to party if its not your thing....
Indeed there is, but I could not be doing with being surrounded by the people who would cram into san an for this thing, for me it is on a par with radio one weekend and after experienceing that once....once is enough for my lifetime :D
I am sure it will be great for everyone involved etc but thanking my lucky stars I wont have to be there when it is on I cant think of much worse to be honest.

this.

its obviously a good thing for San An and therefore for the island in general, and if it brings a lot of money into San An hopefully some of that will go on continuing to improve the place.

the only comment i would have on the line up is that it is being said that 'this changes everything'...well it doesn't really does it??! the vast majority of the DJs announced so far can be seen on the island numerous times across the summer, so yes it maybe a differing setting that you will be seeing them in but still the same DJ. Hopefully there will be a few announcements of DJ's that are rarely seen in Ibiza, that would really get people excited i reckon.

^^ all the same old jokers being rolled out in a different environment. And Sting

well yeah sort of....

i'm not saying that the acts booked so far aren't good dj's...cos i am a fan of some of them. i just think that, in order for the festival to be truly something different, it needs some dj's/acts that are not traditionally associated with Ibiza....

Acts like deadmau5,prodigy,chemical brothers

I think it is some of the little things that will make this stand out. it starts during the day...this is rare for Ibiza as is well known and its outdoors.

I've seen so many DJs in clubs and then at festival and the atmosphere can be totally different as well as the style / music choice the DJ makes.

To be fair every DJ and artist in the line up so far is "oll abart beefa in it" there is nowt new unless sting rumours are true. There is nothing to attract new people to Ibiza with that line up it is crap, you can see all of them at some point here anyway.
The day time thing yes it is great and the only thing I envy, but this may open up the chance for future events from other promoters who know what they are doing and put a proper festival on not this rubbish. :p

This festival will attract new people to Ibiza.
The promoters do know what they are doing.
More acts to be revealed...

That is your opinion of course, however with that line up of the same faces that Ibiza has to offer year in year out there is nothing new there at all....except Sting. What a weird combo :D
I don't doubt the promoters think they know what they are doing, but this was supposed to be different. It looks crap.

Lenny Kravitz, Sting, M83.... Not your usual Ibiza acts that are there every year.
This is just a small portion of the lineup, there are still plenty of additions to be made.

I know quite a number of people of people who love their dance music but aren't fans of the packed out clubs where the usual DJs perform, many willing to give this a shot as its a different environment.

biggest 3-day-rockfestival in germany (at the same weekend in 2 locations,
bands etc flying back and forth) just SOLD OUT month b4,
only few day-tickets (78 -103 Euro/day !!) left ...
so maybe a good time for these kind of festivals

it is opinion, but when the final line-up has been released and the thing is actually happening....it will be a matter of fact that it is totally new and unprecedented.

to be honest, even if it was just the big ibiza names in an outdoor daylong festival with the sunset as the backdrop.....it'd still be 'different' and a big step forward.

also, even if some are island regulars, having all the acts that will play at the festival, playing on the same day or same couple of days in the same place, is unprecedented in itself.

... obviously they want (or at least try) to sell tickets like back in the day ==>

22 years since the last edition of ibiza'92,
an anual event at ku between 1987 and 1990 that was also organized by pino sagliocco.....

... or what explanation do they have that there is still NOTHING but:
- an empty useless website
- an empty useless fakebooksite (just created 3 days ago)

compare with a festival one month earlier in germany:

rock im park/ rock am ring (1.-3.6.2012) (sold out !)
http://www.rock-im-park.com/en
https://www.facebook.com/RockimPark

ibiza123festival (1.-3.7.2012) (zero tickets sold - because ffs you can´t even buy them til now !)
