Just took my cat (the gay cat with the pink collar kerry) to the vets and she's got a hole in her heart, a heart murmor and fluid on her lungs. Doesnt look like she's going to last the night  My poor baby

Sorry to hear that.

I lost a kitten once to some infection (and found out recently that a cat I lost in a 'divorce' had to be put to sleep). The kitten nearly killed me it was so depressing, as I was already in depression at the time.

Is there anything the vet can do?

Nah, doesnt look like theres much they can do. Took her home last night as she would be more comfortable at home. Any stress at the moment could stop her heart and the vet said theres nothing he could do overnight that I couldnt, so i've sat up all night with her. Am taking her back in a few hours, but am not excpecting to be bringing her home again. I thought I'd be distraught, but she's clearly suffering so much that I just want it over and her out of pain. I wont let them operate because if she goes, I want to be there with her and not on an operating table alone. She needs her mom bless her.

 hope you'll be ok sam, really gutted for you, sorry to hear this. But like you say you cant leave her in this pain. Huggles for you my lovely

        Ive just shed a little tear for the gay cat, aaaaw i really loved her and she was such a mommy's girl.

Really sorry to hear it sam

Just got back. We going to give it till Monday see if she responds to the treatment, but if she stays the same or gets any worse then she's going to have to be put down. The vet said he really doesnt think she'll get any better tho, its a serious murmour. Have got her sat on my knee now, giving her lots of kisses and cuddles

Would I sound awful tho if I said I wasnt that upset about having her put to sleep? I just cant stand seeing my little bunny like this anymore :?

no it wont last year my cat was very ill and they said give it week and it may respond to the treatment but it just got worse and was in a lot of pain so we got put down later that day, ruddy loved that cat

I can't imagine having to make that decision.

If you've made peace with it, that's a good thing.
Theres no decision to make. It would be incredibly selfish of me to see her suffer for my benefit
