How's Your Year Been? (2025)

A good year, all in all!
Highs:
Met someone fairly early on in 2025. Been on some great trips together (Malta, Lisbon, Cotswolds).
Went to Ibiza for a lads holiday. Smaller amount of people than the original list, but as the meaning of the trip trained, that was ok. Had an excellent weekend that ended up being very messy - it felt like a closing of a chapter in a way for a lot of things in my life at that time.
Smashed my PB back in April for half marathon. It had been 2h5m, did the half in 1h55. Fitted I'd ever felt (at that time).
Had a few excellent DJ gigs - with a few more lined up for 2026. Unfortunately though I'm not active enough in the scene and still haven't started producing - not sure I will to be honest, so can't see this continuing.
Lows:
The not so elephant in the room, for me, I picked up a leg fracture from a combination of training for a 25k (via HIIT) then 4 days in Ibiza ignoring the pain - to the point that I picked up a hefty stress fracture. Crutches for most of October, November and December which was pretty crushing. Going from being super active to not leaving the house for 4+ weeks... tough. I'm on the mend now but it's slow going. Currently doing Physio to get me back to running, which is still a likely outcome.
Likely the end of my club nights, Transcend and Dark Matter. Transcend took another significant loss in 2024, and my team are in different places in their lives. Decided not to put an event on for either in 2025 after DM took a massive loss in early 2024 as well.
The market has shifted a lot, but I also am not as active in Trance or Techno now - not sure I'll be able to bring them back. DM is likely done for good. Transcend I may look to do something small scale, but without a team, it's hard graft.
Nothing has been the same there since the pandemic.

Its been a while!
Been travelling a lot, Korea, China, Abu Dhabi, Morocco, UK, Hong Kong, Tulum, UK, back to Ibiza just now.
Work and pleasure
Moved my Dad from his house in Devon which he was finding too much , into a retirement apartment in Kent. Spent the winter doing up his old house which we have taken on, has been a money pit/labour of love.
Ibiza biz is doing well, exhausting in the summer but fun (fantaticofans.com for anyone interested!) we have been supplying lots of brands on and off Ibiza with merch. As well as the "real" day job.
Not had much time to be out partying, think I managed 3 events in total in Ibiza and 1 in the UK. Looking forward to some 528 action in 2026 though as missed out on that in 2025.
Speak to a few of the Spotlight crew from time to time. Might even see a few in 2026 as I am hoping to have more time to be social rather than working 24/7.
