How's the weather looking??

Ok I know I won't have much time for sunbathing when I'm going for only 5 days, over the closing weekend. I was hoping for a couple of days of sun. Seems to be lots if thunderstorms at the moment. Are they the type that last an hour or two then the weather is good for the rest of the day, or has it been quite rainy all the time? I'm sure non of this will even matter once I arrive. T minus 5 sleeps!

Take whatever good weather you get as a bonus. September and October are very mixed. I'm planning for snow ^ so that I'm not disappointed.
 
I was hoping October would be a bit more settled. Obviously the temperature is going to drop but thought the rain would clear up for awhile after the thunderstorms. Seems September has been a very good month this year until the last week. Ah well at least I won't feel bad about taking disco naps in the day if it's rubbish. Still beats being in an office in Manchester by a million miles!
 
Me and the missus fly 2nite, and the forecast looks pants!! Thunderstorms 2moro with a glimmer of sun.
I was really looking forward to The final Sunday jet pool party on bora bora 2moro, do people think it will still be party Central 2moro with showers???
 
has been very mixed over the last week or so, past couple of days have been nice, sunny and warm, the 3 or 4 days before that were mainly stormy with a little sunshine here and there... sun has disappeared now again where I am and looking like some more storms may be on their way!
 
Yeah, been blasted by thunder and lightning 4 days out of 7! More due tomorrow, nice in between though.....looking toward to October.

in 2006 or 2007 we had to go straight to the airport after amnesia-closing.
besides 4 people and tons of luggage our rentalcar was at least 100 meters uncontrollable "floating" down the road when leaving amnesia-parking
 
In all seriousness, is this worse weather than the usual few days of thunderstorms/rain that the island gets....

It seems to be all over the show, weather wise.....

I'm longing for a sunny day so i can top up my sunburn!! :lol:
 
no ric, it's not unusual at all. what we get now is 'la gota fría', a few days of pretty bad weather in a row the island always gets at some point towards the end of the summer. last year it was the last week of august and luckily after that the weather was gorgeous again until mid november.

I'd like to think that the worst is over now, but it does look like the unstable weather situation is going to continue for another few days. hopefully not too much rain anymore! and then also hopefully a dry closing party weekend, depending on where you look it should get better from tuesday PM onwards.

also, for those still coming in the next few days - as soon as the sun comes out it gets hot instantly. unfortunately the water temperature already has gone down considerably, but it's definitely still warm enough for a swim. just bring a jumper for the evenings - night time temperatures are a bit lower now.

Definitely!!!!!!! I've gone from watching the rain from my balcony to being baked alive almost in a few minutes!!!! :eek:

The past 3yrs i've arrived for a week or so of closings but it's always been in and around the first 2/3 days of October and there hasn't been a spot of rain for the entire 9/10 days i've been there.... I thought that was the norm.... :eek:

Once it clears though it'll be great as always! :D:D
 
Just got back early this morning, the night we got there we had just missed a thunder storm. Next day was 25c, we had half hour of torrential rain(nearly got killed by a german woman cyclist because the floor was slippy), then it cleared up. Fine the next 2 days, then last night when on way back to airport the heavens opened up.
 
yeah it looks as though this bad weather period is over. it's been glorious today and the next few days look all great too!
