How sad :- (

When we got our 2 new doggies I asked the lady who we got them from for their last owner's sister's e-mail address to let them know how they were getting on (you might remember me saying their last owner was only in her 50s but died  ).

I sent the sister an e-mail with a few photos and just received this lovely e-mail:

Dear Sarah and Tom

We have just read your email and looked at the photos and cried our eyes out because it is just what my sister Pam would have wanted. She loved them so much - so did we but we just didn't have the time to devote to them as they needed.

For many many weeks while she was in hospital she worried about them both and a neighbour went in everyday to care for them - they never chewed anything or damaged anything - they are so well behaved until Kizzie has a row with Sam of course!

Thank you so much for giving them a loving home - Sam will follow you because he will be scared you might disappear like the other mum he had who sadly had to leave us - Sam was always Pam's protector.

By the way, if you want to let him off the lead (you may have already done so) he will definitely hang around and not go far because when he was only a few weeks old he got lost in a huge forest in Scotland and it took Pam hours to find him, by which time he was very frightened - ever since then he never goes far unless he's looking for Kizzie who incidentally should never be let off the lead as she'll be a dot on the horizon until she chooses to return! Free spirit or what!?

You both look wonderful and I can see how happy Sam and Kizzie are - Kizzie was named after the main female character in Roots because it was a book that Pam loved - she was an avid reader. Sam tends to be drawn to women more and Kizzie to men but they both just love to be loved and obviously they are - thank you. You'll never know how much it means.

We would love to hear from you from time to time as to how they are getting on - we miss them.

So glad that your home is more complete - you all look so happy.

Blessings

Debbie & Elaine

That's very nice, Sar, those two dogs are really lucky cos they grew up in a very loving home and now they have been adopted in a very loving family again. ;)

Awww Sar how lovely :) I bet they're so glad to hear that Sam and Kizzie (now Lottie and Danny) have new loving owners.

What a good story and God bless the pair of you for taking them on. Nice to read a "people being kind to animals" story:D instead of the usual rage inducing stuff.

Shweet:):):)

That made me cry   I'm so soppy with dogs. What a lovely letter and so nice of her to take the time to write back (and for you to write in the first place). Good on you and Tom xxx

REALLY PAW DRIVING
A DOG crashed a car into an oncoming vehicle after its owner
let it have a go at steering as she worked the pedals in Hohhot, China.
No one was hurt in the prang.
