right im goin out to ibiza next sunday and am bit worried that i wont have enough money with me.... how much would you guys recommend to take out there? is it as expensive as everyone says? :?

Yes its pretty expensive to other places but worth every penny.

We took £500 last year and we were all inclusive so not any of that went on food - but we did pay a lot in cabs as we were staying out the way.

Im going San Antonio Bay this summer half board and am planning on taking £450-£500 with me which should hopefully be enough.

ah ok thanks.
Im taking 500.00 but self catering :-/ stayin playa den bossa!
im just goin to feel sorry for my halifax one card when im out there cos i have a feelin im goin to have to use my visa

1.Are you going to do a club every night?
2.How long you going for?
3.Big drinker? Do you plan to drink in your room mainly or in the bars/clubs?
4.Do you plan to eat out?
5.Are you planning to go places a little higher than a bottle of San Miguel can take you??;)

1. Most Likely
2. a week
3. yeh can be quite a big drinker :-/ . and im not sure maybe get a bottle of drink for our rooms. bt will be out most of the time
4. yeh will be eating out... but not be eatin a lot just snacky sort of things
5. n not too sure on that 1 ha

lol so basically you are sayin need loadsa money!
i'm sure i can make my money stretch the major problems will be payin to get into the clubs and taxis etc!

if you are clubbing every night you will need at least £130 a day

Seconded.

If you sacrafice the meals out for a few super noodle nights maybe you could get away with £90-£100??

£100 a day is usually my target.

Round club entries up to 50 euro a night, how many drinks are you having.. even if you have 3 waters, 8 euro each thats 24 euro

so 75 euro a night just on entry and water... add on if you want to have a few more drinks or other things..

Drinks, ice creams, even a cheapie breakfast, fruit, throughout the day adds up.

go out for a nice mean and drinks and you can really add a lot extra on... then add taxis and all those extras you buy throughout the holiday

Not true.

We just averaged 140 euros/day each. I went to clubs 10 of 14 nights and a couple of days as well. And we ate in a nice restaurant at least once a day.

One caveat: I drink beer not so much mixed drinks so add 3 euros/drink to that.

lasty year me and my husband went for 4 nights and we had 1000 english pounds on us and we still used the card. but that was going way on it.this year we are going for three nights we have planned what we are doing and we are taking 700 english with us but i will have me card on me all the time, at the end of the day you can have a great holiday either way you make the best of it.

It's one of the questions without a definitive answer.

When I read posts where people are quoted as spending £250 in a week I cannot quite believe it8O

Last September we (wifey & I) went for a long weekend Fri / Sat / Sun night home first thing Monday and spent in excess of £800 (1200 euros).

Just hammer the credit card and pick up the pieces later :) :) :)

Don't quite know how people get away with that!

Ya but if you're there for a just weekend you're going to hammer it, aren't you? Whereas if you're there for a week or two you'll have lighter days and/or days off from partying in the mix.

yeh i went out cpl weeks ago i took 700 euros bout 500 quid and took a further 500 euros out when i was out there i was self catering slap bang in the middle of san an we wenr clubbing wel out every night so i would say 700 sterling u will be fine

Good point!

We never actually take any money and simply draw out from ATM's on a maestro card for free and the rate is usually quite good. The downside is having no idea how much we have spent until getting home and checking the a/c! Shelley never dares to ask how much we have spent until a month after the trip.

I'm sure the younger revellers can stretch their money much further and have the same amount of fun.

We will do about 3-4 'big' nights through the week and the rest Eden/Es Paradis/West End, some days/nights will be over £100 and some less but on average about £100 a day, I am more flush than other years so this year will be taking £800 with a bit of reserve money in the bank.

The people who spend excess tend to cos they can afford it or like someone said they can worry about it when they get back.

You can olny spend what you have and you will prob find that 1st few nights you have the 'I don't care what I spend, I am on hols' attitude and then decide for a few quiet nights.

Flirt with the reps, we have had free nights at Es Paradis before just through being nice to people and making convo.

Some people will say its a crap night/****e DJ's but its Ok for what it is and some nights you will be glad you have saved 50 euros getting in some where.

Get plenty of booze in the room so you are basically topping up when you go out.

Sometimes it good to get the cocktail jugs if there are a few of you.

Nip down the west end before you hit a big club, loads of good deal/free shots and all that!
