HOW MANY YEARS HAVE YOU BEEN 'CLUBBING' FOR?

erm...just wondering on average how long people have been clubbing, caning it for etc...i started in 1992, and have promised myself (not for the first time) that this will be the last year. I am defo planning to knock it on the head after ibiza as 12 years seems excessive, and it does take it's toll......what about everyone else????

Nah dude!!! I've been clubbing since '89! Sometimes i think to myself i outta quit b/c it just seems like a bunch of "kids" now (please, no offense), BUT the music ALWAYS brings me back. I can't give it up. It's in my blood. Sometimes my friends i used to party with have slowed down....they think i outta also, but i tell them I CAN'T. Now, i just tell myself i'll quit when the time comes. :D IN THE MEANTIME.......HERE I COME IBIIIIIZA!!!!! :D ;) 8)

F**k the dees.

Joe, you just keep getting better and better, mate! FTD!  I'll mention Mrs Tee/you to Jess on Saturday and freak her out! Hae a good ain!! :D

Haloween 1991, remember it clearly. Dazed and Confused magazine launch party. got given this little fella. i asked my mate how long it would last. his reply : "the rest of your life"

went out to warehouse/squat raves for a coulpla years but wound down in about 1994. Friends changed and my priorities changes, a bit like what happened to Buckley.

Mrs Rustywoo's friends went to Ibiza in 1999 and they persuaded us to go out with them in 2000. It was like saying hello to a long lost friend. Like Drew, I don't go 'out' that often now, maybe once a month or So..

I'm sure that if I had seriously caned it for any legnth of time I would have become jaded but, if you treat it like a marathon not a sprint race, you can keep going forever.

I wonder if i'm gonna end up like those old geezers you see in Space and Pacha. I think i probably am 8)

I probably have had the longest break.....14 years.... to have a load of kids. Started again in 2001 at the Awakenings festival....with a bang! And i have been going to parties ever sinds. And i don't care a flying whatever....which makes its fun and liberating. Love the music, the people, talking, dancing, and all the other things that go with it. Bring it on!!!

:D :D :D

Well acccording to all of you I am a rookie at 5 years. Im enjoying every minute of it but I only do big club nights and bigger parties. My brain can't handle all the mashedness it used to.

This is a good topic/question and all that, but I think a more pertinent query is 'how much longer do you think you can handle clubbing?'

I already have arthritic ankles and knees thanks to a nasty truck crash whilst serving in Germany- I take Glucosamine & Condroitin tablets and extra high strength 1050mg cod liver oil every day, plus I rub my ankles with Ibuprofen gel before going out and wear support bandages on both ankles. I guess I'll keep going until I drop or I just can't go anymore!!!

Jess freaked out, blast from the past! Jess says does your mum and dad still stay out at rescobie and do you still speak to Trev Wood? Were you involved in the school bombscare!?!? FTD ya bass:D

I guess i started with the real clubbing (electronic music dance clubs, not the mainstream crappy ones) back in 1998, and have been clubbing twice (or more) per weekend ever since. Before that i was just occasionaly going out to random local venues that played whatever kind of music (in my sweet teenage days :D).

Plenty of years left in this old girl

I haven't even got to the stage where I've started calming down yet and only going out for big nights/one offs etc so god knows when I'll be hanging up my dancing shoes

I am 19 and i started 4 years ago when i was 15, my first major experience was the leeds love parade. I also started caning when i was 15 :? never looked back since ;)

1987/88
First rave/warehouse party in Dec 1987 then after that I was hooked on the music - never looked back so that makes it 16/17 years yay!!!

That's the thing, isn't it... I still love it. I still go for the music and to dance and socialize, not to see and be seen. I keep wondering when I'll get sick of it, and I'll go through short spells where I may skip a weekend or two, but I just can't get enough!

I wonder about having kids someday, or spending weekends playing golf or doing other career-advancing activities... then I think 'ahh, f**k it!'

I envy the people who make a living out of it.
