Can I ask why alot of you folk have had long breaks? Buckley, that was one long stint away from it..what happened?

Ran into my childhood sweetheart again at 22, had spent since the last 6 years sleeping with everyone, moved in together at 23, didn't feel the need to go out much anymore....

Been clubbing for 12 years now.... Getting old....

Keep finding myself saying "god I remember this place in '92/3.... It's not the same as it used to be" etc etc....

:( :( :(

15 years pretty much to the day, I'm nearly 30 and its taken its toll and got the better of me, sleep is to precious! May go out for annual knees up as still have the vibe but not the pace, although I'm thinking of one last trip to the white isle before i retire for good!!!

So...did you give up for good then? Never get the urge to go out when you heard some good tunes etc.?

Started when I was 16 at illegal warehouse parties and the Hacienda and a club called Monroes in Gt. Harwood near Accrington in Lancashire. Had a 3 year break whilst I was in the Army(!) during which time the Hacienda closed :( Had another break when I moved from Lancashire to Gloucestershire (didn't know any clubs or clubbers down here) and then a mate introduced me to clubbing in Bristol. Started with Hard House- Ripsnorter @ The Depot
http://www.ripsnorter.co.uk
Then moved on to psy-trance where the crowds seem to be more mature and nearer my age 8)
Tribe of Frog (my favourite monthly night in Bristol) are putting on parties every Sunday at Las Dalias in San Carlos in Ibiza- I'll be there on 4th July

I started when I was a teenager (about 13 or 14 y.o.) going to afternoon-evening teen-clubs. Now there's a month left to be 30. So I'm clubbing since 1987 or 88.

However I was a little off of all of the clubbing stuff from 1995 or 96 to 2000 or 01.

erm...just wondering on average how long people have been clubbing, caning it for etc...i started in 1992, and have promised myself (not for the first time) that this will be the last year. I am defo planning to knock it on the head after ibiza as 12 years seems excessive, and it does take it's toll......what about everyone else???
Been clubbing on and off for 10 years but less the past 4 years as I've got a daughter now! :D Started going to the monthly Rhumba Club in Arbroath/Perth & Kentucky Club in Dundee! Used to have a "double-dunter" with the monthly Rhumba followed by Renaissance at the Tunnel, Glasgow the night after! Ouch! 8O More recently, up until last year, Dundee Students Union (although I wasn't a student!!) was the best night out. A big night (Morillo, Jon Carter etc) was guaranteed every couple of weeks. Fortunately, my clubbing semi-retiral has coincided with a 10-year low as far as Dundee clubbing's concerned (or maybe it's not a coincidence) Been to Ibiza 4 times now, most recently last week when i came over with me 6 best buds for my stag do! Space Opening was amazing, Pacha was classy and Es Paradis was as good as ever! I've got the clubbing bug again but God knows how I'll get round the missus  (Oh, and I'm only 27 before I start sounding like I need a pipe and slippers!)

Started when I was around 16 in local clubs.. graduating on to the full on biker\rock scene, for the years of 89-97.. calmed down for a bit until 2001 when got thrown headlong into the funky house clubs by my current partner.. and ain't looked back since... so 16 years ish... (oof that makes me feel soo old)..

Though I begin to worry now.. when I see people out and I'm old enough to be their Mum! However, I'm the same age as a lot of the DJ's who have been around the circuit for a while, so it's easier to talk to them when they don't think your a giggling girly!

Jessica's lad is my best man, who was in Ibiza with me last week!?! Small world, eh? Considering there's people from all over the world on this forum, it's a bit spooky! Any stories that I can freak Jess out with when I see her on Saturday, that I couldn't have known? Not to get any more freaked out but you don't know a guy called Ollie who lives in Clapham Common do you? He used to go to Renaissance at The Cross quite a lot?
