A punch bag is a device that measures punch strenght. Usually at festivals and fairs.

A fairground is just that; the grounds that a fair is held on. Any big, flat area is good enough.

We call that a "Heavy Bag"

The ones that look like pears that are suppost to help with speed are called "Speed Bags"

Some brilliant guy took some scale-y thing and stuck it horizontally so that when someone punches them (usually with a glove on) it would measure the strenght of the blow. Kinda like hitting the hammer and making the little weight go up and hit the bell only with your fists.
