Nice and Sunny here in the southern U.S., have weekend off so im looking forward to that! Hurricane season will be here soon!!! Ah well...off to work till the weekend comes!

Ah, hurricane season. My parents live in Florida so it was a little nervous for us last year with 4 'canes each coming within a few miles of them... they were very lucky.

ya we had some very close calls. Florida got slammed. Hurricane Ivan just missed where i live. Ive been through several 'canes and decided to stay. My dad and i drank beer in the garage and watched the storm come in. Once it picked up we sealed her up and hungout. winds got to just over 100 where i live. The storm shifted to the right and smashed into western Florida. They got hit real bad, destroyed bridges and everything. Bad stuff. My dads house is hurricane tested and in a very good spot, high ground and no trees. Good things.

I moved down here from New Jersey on Sept. 9th, right after Ivan hit Louisiana. Of course it was my genius idea to move down in a four-hurricane season, right? My roomates were in Oregon when Jeanne hit central Florida, so I was holed up in the apartment with 3 nervous cats. Spent most of the time drunk and playing PS2 (when the power was on) 8)

We got lucky, not much damage, but I didn't sleep too well for 3 days with the sound of Mother Nature's vacuum cleaner howling outside my window.

Ya Nez I know what you mean. Had to sedate my dads 2 dogs lol. Only thing is power goes out easily at my dads house, but was no biggie. So used to them now that to me its just pretty peaceful. Ive never left if its a category 3 or lower hurricane. I stayed for Ivan which was a 4 because it was moving more east. Plus I couldnt leave my dad. But after seeing what it did to Florida...well ill be leaving thats for sure. Not taking the risk, no matter how good my Dads spot is.
