Hotel Marco Polo

Any reviews on this hotel?

Also, just been told 'you may have to pay a tax on this hotel', any ideas what this is?

Thanks

McKinney

Booked this already back in Feb. Has mostly good reviews, and across from Es Pla where I stayed last year so I know the location. Hoping my stay is at least on par

Which Marco Polo are you in? I or II? I stayed in I last year and visited many times in 2013 and never had any issues. Quite noisy at times due to its location but has a great pool area with good tunes pumping out.

Sure you will love it. :) Just ping me a message if you want to know anymore mate.

Have stayed here in 2011 (cant remember if it was I or II but it was next to the main road, if you have a pool view you will be fortunate as the rooms which overlook reception and the road are a nightmare for noise from traffic etc. Its a bit of an 18-30 hotel so if your into that scene then the noise of other guests will probably suit you, theres a small car park out front which is useful, very central.

Thanks guys

Staying in I. Don't really mind the noise etc it's to be expected, wasn't really booking looking for a Hilton type place. I don't intend to be in it much to be honest. Want to explore as its my first time over, just didn't want to have booked a hotel nightmare situation.

Much appreciated

I am in 1 as well. I heard that can play tunes from your phone at the pool. Is it a Bluetooth connection or what?

Does anybody have contact info for the hotel? I also heard the rooms overlooking the pools were good.

I've stayed there twice, it's fine. Good location close enough and far enough away from west end. Didn't notice much noise on road. Close to beach/port.The air con gets the room brilliantly cool! They don't mind music and drinking round the pool.

I arrived two days after some friends one year, went to their room and three lads were absolutely sweating on the balcony (rubbish view out on the backside) I remarked how hot it was. "Been like this since we arrived in this room, aircon is rubbish-it's not gone cooler than about 28degrees"

They had it on heatingo_O

I stayed at marco polo 1 in 2013. It was nice, pool area was good drinks not to expensive. I didn't think it was noisey really considering the location. I would def recommend

Feel even better about my choice! Thanks.

Do they allow your own drinks around the pool? I didn't try with my own drinks at the Es Pla becuase it didn't seem like you could. I just had my own water bottle with some clear booze in it tho

 ;)

  :D

I stayed in marco polo 2 in 2013 and it was wild non stop. I paid to upgrade into marco polo 1 which was much nicer. I stayed in marco polo 1 again last year and i would highly recomend. 2 mins from the bus station, 10 minutes from cafe Mambo, great atmosphere round the pool and you can play your own music. Only problem was the usual plebs who shout in the corridors. The night porter man is a bit grumpy but if you buy him red bull he will be nice :)

I'll probably be sleeping through all the plebs shouting in the halls, I had that happen at Es Pla as well but that hotel seem to have more of an older clientele, so not as much. Welcoming the younger folk at Marco! Yeah I really like the location... Was going to do Es Pla again but prices rose dramatically but it looks like it was a blessing in disguise
