Due to arrive in Ibiza 21st May for one week, we're booking a table at Mambo for dinner one evening. We'll have the kids with us (teens) so want to show them a good night but not sure which night would be best to book for them to get the best experience - what do you think?

If they have the Flower Power pre-party again on the Saturday that may be a good option but you’ll be better to wait until their events are announced

Usually it reflects Pacha. So if Defected on Thursday at Pacha, if they have a pre party it might be at Mambo. Again wait and see but they would enjoy most nights there!

Best sunset spot now? Cala Escondida doesn't open until tomorrow unfortunately!
Going for food after so don't need a restaurant

Spending half my upcoming trip next week in SanAn. I have been past Mambo dozens of times but never stopped by to eat or drink. Is there a 'min spend' in the evening or 'a la carte'? Looking for an easy evening with the family but want to enjoy some music and people watch.

Leaning towards next Thursday the 19. Maybe catch the Defected pre party.

Yeah you would need to book.. They have the minimum spend on their site, from €60/70-€150 l think, depending on your table location. Eat elsewhere, then comeback to listen to pre party. Think most beside Mambo has min spend.. Could be wrong

Space Eat and Dance just a few doors along doesn't (in May and September at least). Food's OK.

Some blurb for this new audiophile bar.

My guess is there will be a lot of good music on an amazing bespoke system (looks like Jaime has his Dad's records!) - BUT my experience of listening bars in London and BCN is that they're really contrived when ideally you just want to let loose on chairs and tables. I'm inclined to agree with JM that it probably will be yet another rich poseur magnet. Happy to stand corrected though.

*Just feels like there's a massive gap in the market for somewhere down-to-earth by the sea where cool music heads can let off steam. What it is about 50 year old party people that terrifies the authorities so much is anyone's guess...

I met Westbeech at the Worldwide festie in 2006. Nice guy. Around that time No Good Today was blowing up in all the clubs thanks to that amazing Osunlade remix. Never heard him DJ though
