Holiday with 2 under 3's

Hi

I am in the same situation first time back to Ibiza with a two year old.

What month are you going?

I did a lot of research and read a lot of reviews and decided to go to port des torrent, it was toss up between the barcleo and siriens seaview.

http://www.ibiza-spotlight.com/sirenis/seaview/

I booked the sea-view with Thomas Cook for the free kids place and flight on a self catering basis, you can upgrade to AI at the hotel for 25 euro a day for adult and 12 euro for kids, cheaper to do it this way.

:)

We're planning on going end of may begining of june, hopefully for 10 days. We want to stay the Ibiza town side this time cos we have stayed the other side the last 7 times we have gone! Time for a change and we're more likely to see a sunrise rather than a sunset!!

I was thinking of going into a travel agent and seeing what they can do for us. Havent been to an agent for about 12 years! So its cheaper to book self catering and then upgrade to A/I when you get there? I guess you wouldnt have to do it for every day aswell?

Thats why we have always gone self catering for the extra space but its just not a holiday when you have 2 babies! The holiday ends up being all about where we're going to eat or cooking! :?

sal rossa don;t do a/i,they only do breakfast if you pay extra when booking.most places you must pay for a week and not odd days.you missed out on thomas cook sale for ibiza in jan.they was doing some great deals.

you have to work out wether you want your meals done for you.and eat as much as you like.or go s/c and eat in atp with the odd night out.why stay in at night when there is loads to do in resort.not much of a holiday for you.

i see loads of familys with young ones, pushing pram round.with the heat etc most are asleep anyway.for the time you are there you can ajust there sleep patten for that time.even for me the sun takes it out of you.

10 days your looking at going.depends which airport your looking at going from but only thomsons do odd days.thomas cook are set days and only do week or two weeks.

how many children is there?.

anyway best of luck.

its taken me a few months to persuade my husband to go again! it might be different this year but when we took sasha 2 years ago we tried going out at night with the buggy and he just wouldnt sleep in it, he was far too distracted with everything going on all around him! savannah will sleep in the buggy ok though.

i guess we will just go and ask an agent to look for us and see what they can do, a weeks not enough but 2 weeks is too much!

Sasha and Savannah.

Cool names.

You have been bitten by the bug!

Thank you :D everyone thinks Sasha is named after the dj, he isnt we just liked the name for a boy, but I guess hes not a bad role model eh! and Savannah is named after Savannahs cos thats where my husband proposed for the 2nd time :p and she was 'made in Ibiza'

I was bitten by the bug the minute I walked around Ibiza town in june 2005, I knew where I was going even though Id never been before! As cliched as it is, I knew I'd come home :D8)

Ok, having a re-think! Seems theres not many a/i hotels that are baby friendly on the east side (unless im missing something) so are looking on the west side too. any recommendations greatly appreciated :D

has anyone stayed in hotel tarida?

edit: also would deffo need 2 rooms, eg a living room and bedroom or 2 bedrooms adjoining. im getting a headache! ibiza was so much easier when i didnt have babies lol!

Hola, SS, how time flies!!

We have just returned from a week with our two children (boy 5 nearly 6 & girl 2 just). Clearly different to summer but I would go self catering every time.:D We did it with our little boy when he was 2 and a bit and went s/c staying in Cala Llonga. Looking to go s/c in figueretas in August, is a perfect location with so many places to eat on the sea front on that gorgeous walk to ibiza town etc.

On our visit last week, we had a few meals in the apartment but found that a few cheap toys kept them occupied for a good hour or so during meals out. It is probably easier with us having the older boy as he does love taking the role of 'being in charge of little sis' very seriously:lol::lol:. We always had our girl (2) down for a sleep in the afternoon so she wasn't in lucifer mode come evening time!!

Playa Sol II (I know, gps:oops:) is an ideal base. Nice contained pool area, little beach area with sunbeds to the sea. No noisy brits. Food options available, breakfast etc. Air con, cleaned daily. Location absolutely perfect.

lots of hotels are baby friendly in pdb.the amount of prams and young children i see about.try looking at palm beach hotel then.thomsons.super family hotel.next hotel up from Club Bahama.fiesta hotel group hotel plam beach is.

Playa Sol II does have a bedroom as well.which would suit you.ok there is only a small bit of rock to sunbath on..and a small pool.but set back on a fairly quite road (one way).only have to walk 200 yards to get on figueretas prom and into the resort.or turn left passed torre del mar and you on a small beach area.up steps and your on prom bit of pdd.where you can get boats from.

cheap atps as well.supermarket just round corner.

aww how lovely, i love ibiza in winter :D ive just been looking on loads of websites and am considering santa eulalia cos we have never stayed there or maybe es cana as that was where we stayed when we first went! i do love the freedom of self catering, but deffo think a/i might be the best option this year cos it takes the hassle out of it. i never thought id want to go a/i in ibiza, but having babies changes everything lol!

i am put off a bit by 'family friendly' hotels tho as i dont really 'do' other peoples kids and im thinking all that kids entertainment might do my head in 8O but my son is VERY lively and needs entertaining constantly, my daughter is a lot more chilled!

i think we stayed in playa sol 2 years ago, its near es vive isnt it? oh g0d i dont know what to do!!! :?

sorry i meant to say baby friendly with the 2 room option and not ridiculously priced! i will keep looking. just not used to looking for this type of holiday! normally i book my flights on sky scanner and then go on holiday rentals for my accomodation! easy peasy!

thank you for all your help btw, greatly appreciated :D

es vive is just down the road yes your right.you never know what to do.your gonna have to make your mind up soon.as its the flights your looking at will be full soon.so if you family friendly' hotels.go s/c and entertain him yourself.

again best of luck finding somewhere thats gonna tick all the boxes for you.at least if your in pdb area.you can go for nice walks with pram to get them to sleep.and not so far in bus for transfers.

It's so funny your thought process is just like mine, last few times in ibiza before the baby we stayed in talamanca.

I have been through all the reviews and did the cons and pros SC you have all facilities to make snacks for kids etc, with AI upgrade then less to cook, and free drinks in the evening. (if required)

I have went for a room with a sea view at the siriens sea view in port des torrent. I am assuming you will get to see the sunset as you would form kuhmars or mambo and will be quite happy on the balcony if the wee one is asleep with a bottle of wine.

Can anyone confirm if i will get my sunset view, has anyone ever stayed at this hotel ?
