HOLIDAY FM IBIZA LAUNCHED

Holiday FM is continuing to extend its broadcasting network to the most popular UK holiday destinations abroad, with the opening of Holiday Fm Ibiza on Thursday 1st July.

Jennifer Ellison, who recently won Hells Kitchen, will be the star of the launch party backed by Hannah Joy Lewis and Jade Meguire, stars of the new “Pop” band.

The new station will be broadcasting in conjunction with Oasis FM on 102.4FM and holidaymakers will be able to hear an exciting mix of programming produced by Capital Radio as well as specialized local dance shows from our studios in Kanya. Programming will include the lastest summer tunes, entertainment news and regular features such as Hit40uk, Party In the Park and the Seven, hosted by well known celebrities and recognized Capital FM presenters.

Holiday FM Ibiza will be broadcasting the best music 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, courtesy of Capital Radio, to this fabulous island of fun for everyone to enjoy a little taste of home in the sun.

The Foreign and Commonwealth Office has recently selected Holiday FM as the best way to keep in touch with British holidaymakers abroad.

Locally produced specialist dance shows live from the Ibiza studios from 15:00hrs – 03:00hrs as well as celeb gossip and news straight from Capital London.

Thursday saw the launch of Holiday 102.4fm radio at Kanya and the so far quieter end of San An came to life as the live appearance of Jennifer Ellison caused a media frenzy. Also in attendance was the girls from new pop band POP and Tinhead from UK soap Brookside. The bar was heaving as people tried to get photos of their pin ups and the bar staff tried to cope with the massive numbers.

heard a little bit of this a coupla weeks back. terrible during the day pop rubbish and stupid chattering djs. it's run by London's Capital FM from their studios in Leicester Square. It's for all the kidz who want to hear all the hits from home.

bit better in the evenings but not much, lotsa Basement Jaxx, Shapeshifters etc etc. plenty of 'HOTMIXES' blah blah blah
 
once it starts broadcasting from ibiza (apparently the day after the opening of mambo) it will be alot better!! ;)
 
Which is the most popular English speaking radio station to listen to whilst in Ibiza? (Preferably one playing dance music)
 
I dunno if it's the most popular one but Global FM is very listenable:

97.6FM.

There's no ads and sets are provided by the djs who play in the clubs. The host Andy Wilson is a mate of mine!
 
HOLIDAY FM 94.4 will celebrate its first birthday on the island at the beginning of July. The station has continued to broadcast 24-7 all year around since the launch, with winter output primarily coming direct from partner Capital Radio headquarters in London's Leicester Square. It’s part of a pan-Med broadcast network, aiming at UK-centric holiday destinations, so international news relevant to British visitors is continually relayed. However, once the Ibiza clubbing season kicks in, a large amount of programming switches to live localised content, basically from mid-afternoon through to the next breakfast time. This means cool events, guest DJs, mixes and live broadcasts take priority. The studio has been moved from its initial Kanya base over to Café Mambo, the world’s premier clubbing and sunset beach bar in San Antonio. There’s no better position on the island, with the bar DJ box located just below the studio being home to the greatest House music spinners in history. Every night Sanchez, Morillo, Tong, Morales… literally anyone and everyone in dance. HFM are broadcasting many of these performances, as well as extended live events direct from the major club venues themselves, including Judgement Sunday at Eden, Space, El Divino, Es Paradis, Privilege… a list that’s being added to daily. Initial signal teething difficulties of last summer have been rapidly overcome, with powerful extra transmitters now in place ensuring total island coverage. The shows can also be heard by everyone, globally, via the net…

i am sure nobody was expectiong to hear mötley crüe, saxon, ufo, etc broadcasted from the studios of mambo, eh? 8O :lol: 8O
