thought that would get you interested! it's grand designs time again in san jose and i'm currently juggling 7 or 8 contractors doing work for us from building walls, plumbing (some day he'll come) and making furniture.

this week we've had the company of dean the carpenter who's been busy decking everything in sight - well in sight of the barbecue house in the sunken garden that is. here's the photoboard so far...

the less hip among you will have seen some of dean's previous work as he's the guy who makes the manumission stage every year!

looking good james! Will have to ask you for recommended builders next time the 'rents need work doing. :D

Hard hat?

Steel capped boots?

Risk assessments?!

Constructions a dangerous game you know!

haha. i remember in 2000 when they were building coastline..........for about 4 weeks (i had a meeting there every day) the only 2 people i ever saw were 2 builders dressed in shorts and flip flops...........nada más!

the operation was so efficient too, both of them would load up some bricks/equipment into a big tray thing and then both climb the long trek to the top of the building and then pulley it up and unload it and then both went back to the bottom again.............repeat to fade.............

several weeks on and we're getting there. just a wall to be painted and some spotlights to sit flush in the decking .............oh and the furniture.

here's how we looked when we threw our first bbq of the season on sunday

the deck chairs i found on the dump and had them re-slung, the buddha is also a water feature - the water bubbles out of the bowl he's holding. our table is a bora bora replica i had made in the carpenter's shop in san an - it's a ten seater and only cost €300!!

now i know why it takes so long to finish san an´s wooden (promenade) platforms - all "woodworkers" worked in stephen´s garden

do you have a closeup of the buddha with the water coming out ?

This is one thing I used to love about Ibiza in the winter especially....people would put the most amazing things in the dump or by the rubbish bins....really beautiful things that I couldnt understand why they were throwing them out!

I found myself backing up in my car a few times if I saw something that caught my eye! Found some lovely white gloss cast aluminium garden bistro chairs once
