Hi guys

A question for you ibiza experts

In Ibiza we were always getting shots of this aniseed flavoured drink.

It was not until we were giving a bottle of it in sa capella after our meal that I realised it was called Hierbas.

We love the stuff

This year I would like to ask for it in bars but not as a shot, Do you get it in a 'long' glass with ice etc etc?

Also ... how the hell do you pronounce it ???

its absolutely lovely isn't it

i think its just drank as a shot or with a couple of ice cubes as a post dinner liquer!

it is prounounced like eeyer-bass (the letter h is always silent in spanish)

you can have it whatever way you want. i know some people have it served as a long drink over ice.

but for me it is what the french call a digestif, served after a meal. whenever i have drunk it at any other time than as an after dinner liquor, it doesn't feel right and it never tastes the same when you're not in ibiza.

Really? I like a couple of these, chupito styleee (but with ice) before / after / inbetween a club

i still like it, don't get me wrong.............but it's not at home there.

it's like having jagey that isn't ice cold. still love it but just wrong.
 
I drank hierbas con hielo:) everywhere in Ibiza, and I don't usually go for sweet drinks - it started as my after dinner/pre-club drink, then turned into my post club/nightcap drink as well- I finished a bottle in Ibiza, and I brought another back to the states with me - it lasted a week! This thread is making me crave some right now, and sambuca is a poor substitute:cry: .
 
As digestif with lot of ice.
